When my great Pyrenees broke her leg and we later found she had bone cancer, I really believe she was in the best hands with Dr. Crozier. She helped not only my dog but me as well. From first finding the bone cancer and having so many questions and concerns, right until making the end of life transition. They have also been so amazing with my other dog who has a little stranger danger and offered to bring him in more often for " happy tours" so he can get more comfortable ? Keep up the amazing work, you guys are amazing!“

“We chose this vet based on another’s review. We have been to so many vets over the 13 years of our pups life and we were always pushed into taking meds home right away. Dr. Fraizer and her staff are amazing! She was great at explaining what she saw going on on the surface. She is a “collect data, analyze and make a game plan” type of vet. With 30 years of experience one would think she could just say “yep, I’ve seen this all the time, this is how we treated it” shoved is a bunch of meds we never heard of, and sent us on our way, but I TRULY believe she knows treatment plans are not a one size fits all, researches every case, and builds a phased plan.

The staff was amazing, gentle, patient, and never took our pup to the back to do anything.

This is how veterinary care should be!!!

“Update October 2024: Oakes is still the best place in town for veterinary care from my experience all these years later. They helped us through two years of treating diabetes in an senior cat very compassionately and are now helping us deal with another senior cat as he deals with constant upkeep shots.

They're often very very busy, please be patient they're dealing with lots of other passionate pet parents.

TLDR: This vet is amazing, it is the number one place I trust with the health and well-being of my cats. I believe you should bring your pets here.

Since I live across the street from this shopping plaza I was ecstatic when my wife and I noticed the sign go up for a vet right here. We hadn’t had great experiences in the past with another vet nearby and hadn’t found an alternative in a couple of years, so this was perfect. One of our cats had some dental issues that the old vet had noticed, but the price at that vet was clown-shoes crazy so we were never able to get him taken care of the way we wanted.

At Oakes the initial visit, the dental work that included multiple extractions, the medicine my little guy needs, and the follow up visit all came out to about half of what a similar procedure had cost at the old vet. I am so, so, so grateful Oakes has allowed me to take care of my cat the way I wanted to without breaking the bank.

On top of the very reasonable price is the added bonus of an amazing staff that really cares about the animals they are treating. From the person at the front desk the Doctor treating my cat, every single person we’ve dealt with at Oakes has shown compassion and competency.

Also, the interior of the office is immaculately done. Between the calming setting of the lobby and the awesome exam rooms with large windows, the atmosphere kept my cat the calmest I’ve ever seen at a vet.

This is where I will be bringing my boys and where I will be recommending all my friends bring their pets. Oakes Animal Hospital is the best addition to this area in years.“

“We have always had a great experience with Dr Pugh and the team! We brought our cat Zeke in in February for what seemed to be a urinary blockage and they helped us figure out a plan for him to get him feeling better! They were super patient with him (he’s not the nicest) and have us peace of mind knowing he was taken care of. Our girl Sadie has always been afraid of vets and becomes fear aggressive. The staff were super sweet to her and while it’s still something we are working on we have hope one day she will grow to love coming in. Our new pup Cane also received the best care getting loved on and lots of treats during his checkup! As a pet owner it can be hard to find a trustworthy vet. The staff here have excelled at commitment to care of our pets! We are so grateful for them and all their hard work, from the vets to the ladies up front and vet techs. “I absolutely love Ard-Vista! They were always extremely careful with my yorkie who had terrible health issues and a collapsed trachea. They saw us through both of my previous girls' passings and were so respectful of them through the process. Dr. Morrison even sent us heartfelt, handwritten card about how special he could tell our little Piper was to us and how sorry he was for our loss. We now have 3 Maltese. Dr. Gessner is our regular vet and he is extremely patient with me and my 1,000 questions as a constantly anxious dog mom. He always takes great care of my dogs and is very careful during procedures. The entire staff is fantastic and Jessica up front is an angel. I can not say enough good things about them.“

“In January of 2024, Banjo was in an accident that resulted in her hind leg being injured. Banjo kicked through the tin on the side of my barn. Her hind leg at the cannon bone was tore wide open. The bone and tendon showed through. Dr. Klein assisted me when I first brought Banjo to the hospital. She was amazing and very supportive, as I was a mess. The injury to Banjos leg was severe, and resulted in her staying at Davie County Large Animal Hospital for a week. She already had an infection running through her body by the time I got her to the hospital. She received non-stop vet care from the team. After a week in the hospital, Dr. Castro had to perform surgery to close her leg back up. The surgery went great and her leg looked amazing. After getting to come home with proper vet care instructions to further care for her leg, she was stalled. After a few days, it busted open. This was a mess. I called Dr. Castro and the team immediately. I transported her back to the hospital, and we worked out a plan of care. Everyone on the team provided amazing care to Banjo. I was seeing Dr. Castro, and his team every two weeks for months. Every time I came in, they made sure Banjo was taken care of. Every time I called to ask a question or was concerned, the team always provided an answer to my question. I could not have done this without them. After 7 long months of continuous vet care, Banjo made a full recovery with no lameness issues.“

“Absolutely the best vet around. We've been going for a bit and love Dr Taylor-gotta saw we've passed the love on to Dr. Tamashiro! She was able to quickly pick up on our doggo's IVDD, previously diagnosed, and gave us a supportive plan. She's been nothing but insanely helpful, compassionate and caring with our pups, and the practice itself is always the best care. Everyone there is fantastic!“

“Emergency vet care is expensive, much like emergency human care. Owning a pet comes with financial responsibility of that pet and I don't think it's fair to blame the vet office because you can't pay for something. That being said - we received compassionate (and extremely costly) care from this hospital and if we have another emergency we will use them again.“

“My dog Apollo had been very sick for weeks and after 3 visits to our vet we kept getting no answers and no help so we came here. It was such a breath of relief compared to what we had been dealing with. Dr Leon took the time to listen to what had happened to my dog, what were his symptoms, what had the other vet tried to do to treat him, and then he went through what he thought the best course of action would be. He told us from the beginning he suspected it may be cancer and to be wary, but that he would still continue to try everything he could incase that it was something else. We had no trouble getting seen and weren’t being charged $120 emergency fee everytime we needed to be seen or speak to someone like my other vet had been doing. Even when I was just going to pick up medication Dr Leon took time out of his day to come talk to me, see how Apollo was doing and tell me what the plan was if this did or didn’t work. He was very accommodating and worked to try and find a solution to what was happening. Unfortunately it was cancer and there was nothing we could do further to help him, but every one was very kind to us during the process of putting him to rest. I have nothing but kind things to say about this place. They genuinely care about their patients and the people who come here. They listen and we weren’t excessively overcharged and told we needed unnecessary treatment and supplies like my previous vet had been doing.“
