EMR is a great company and they helped me through this unexpected expense. Removing asbestos is not easy and EMR made sure I knew what was happening and everything they promised and when promised, was done!! I would recommend them to anyone!
Our experience with EMR was not the best. We hired them to test our popcorn ceiling for asbestos, and then remove the popcorn ceiling when that test came back for a high level of asbestos. The popcorn removal itself was done well, but there were a lot of other smaller details that we were not happy with. There were staples left all over: in the walls, wood trim and even our kitchen cabinets. There were several areas of drywall that were badly damaged, and it was not explained to us ahead of time that those would not be repaired by EMR. They also took down all of our light fixtures and left them sitting outside on our porch. Our living room ceiling fan was bent from how it was set down and now doesn’t work because of this. It was also never explained to us that EMR would not be putting the lights back up, so we had to move into our home with no lights. The customer service at EMR is very good, however. Tamara listened to all of our concerns and made amends by paying for an electrician to reinstall our lights, since this part of the process had not been disclosed to us beforehand. Overall the job was done fine, but there were details we wish we would have known ahead of time to avoid this disappointment, especially since the work is quite expensive.
