Flooring in Gastonia

“My coworker recommended Gaston Floors as she had a great experience and is still happy with her floors 5 years later. We worked with Jim to learn about what flooring would work best for our kitchen, get some samples, and he helped us get the estimate. He was so great to work with! Our goal was to work with the light gray cabinets we already had so we picked out a dark gray floor to be a nice contrast.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer sent the wrong color and I didn’t notice during installation because it was right after Hurricane Helene and our office had picked up extra work from our western offices. My cats also kept trying to escape my office! So, I didn’t even realize until the end that it was actually a dark brown and not the dark gray. We were upset/frustrated at first, but the more we walked into the kitchen that night the more the dark brown grew on us. The installation was also done very nicely and the quality of the floor is great. That meant we’d have to repaint our cabinets though. I called them in the morning and spoke with Greg and he was willing to do whatever we needed to resolve the issue and was willing to work with us. They offered to come in and install the correct color, but honestly we were willing to keep the brown and he offered a discount. I think what could have prevented this was if the installers verified the color they were picking up at the store and/or verified with me before installing.

It’s ok that mistakes were made, it happens, what matters to me is how the issue was resolved. And Greg was willing to do whatever we requested as the mistake wasn’t on our end. If we wanted the gray he would have made it happen, it just so happened we really liked the brown. It was so great working with everyone there, Jim, Greg, and Milo and his team of installers. Very very happy with our new floors and have already picked out some paint samples, so we are very excited for what our kitchen will look like when it’s done!“
