This review is for their legal department. I went to legal on 03 JUNE 2024. I not greeted by the civilian woman who worked there. Instead, she asked "why are you here?" I informed her that I wanted to appeal a permanently filed GOMOR, to have it rescinded. She disappeared for a few minutes. I was immediately not confident that I was going to receive any help because she seemed bothered by the fact that I was in the office requesting assistance. She eventually resurfaced and informed me that I have to wait 6 months to a year past the filing date to appeal. I informed her that that information is not in AR 600-37. Additionally, my SM informed me that I am able to appeal the GOMOR and request it be rescinded. She said, and I quote: "I don't care what your SM told you. I care what my OIC told me." This is how you can tell she's a Government civilian employee, rather than a regular employee. That comment was wildly inappropriate and utterly unprofessional. They treat you with such disregard and disrespect. I immediately contacted Matthew Barry. Matthew Barry is former JAG, a West Point Graduate, and a retired Major. He, of course, informed me that the information the OIC gave me is not correct. There is no waiting period to appeal a GOMOR and request that it be rescinded. This is why people opt out of the "free" legal services the Army provides because it is virtually nonexistent. Rather than help a soldier who has politely requested their services, they rudely and abruptly send them away with fallacious information. I now have to spend thousands of dollars rehiring Mr. Barry because the Army legal team lies to soldiers and blatantly refuses to offer them any assistance. I will now be filing an ICE.
I'm surprised the US military is able to function with bureaucratic facilities like this one. I can't speak to the entire building, but considering the immense daily wait times for the ID center, either higher some more staff or streamline your process. This place is ridiculous.
The mens restrooms by the main entrance on the 1st floor was an incredible experience. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained as well as fully stocked with toilet paper, soap and paper towels. I wish that I could give this post more than five stars.
