I have been going to Dr Wunnava for 3 years now -- for chronic pain and degenerative disc disease. He has helped me manage my pain without getting me doped up on opiates and he is now helping me treat my 25-year-long Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD). I cried today because for the first time in my adult life, the fog of chronic pain and depression has finally lifted. I finally feel like a functional, valuable person who can thrive in life and my community without the overwhelming burden that pain and depression impose on a person's body, mind, and soul. Dr Wunnava has professionally managed my many tears and mood swings during a particularly low time, when I didn't think I could or would ever get better. And his staff are always so compassionate, gentle, and friendly. If you're just looking for a doctor to refill your pain meds and to not treat the problem, only the symptoms-- he is not the doctor for you. BUT if you are searching for a doctor who wants to and will actually treat you and help you get better for the long term (which, obviously, that is what you want/need on the path to reclaiming your body and mind and living a healthier and happier life)... Dr Wunnava is the best and I could not recommend him and his staff enough. So thankful to have found Pain & Wellness Solutions of the Carolina's. So so thankful.

I drive about an hour and a half to get to this office even though there are plenty of places that offer the same services and treatments within walking distance. I love the doctor and the staff. They not only have great bedside manner, but are completely competent. I moved here from Southern California about a year ago where I was receiving ketamine treatment for not just anxiety, depression, and PTSD, but I also have an extremely painful condition that brought me into the ER about once a month and could barely get out of bed unless I took a lot of pain meds that left me feeling like a bowl of soup and not at all myself. Daily I would choose if I wanted to feel like I was giving natural childbirth or be so looped out of my mind, I didn't know who I was. Plus, pain meds make me anxious, completely on edge, and sometimes I get so itchy, I break out into hives. I did EVERYTHING to stop this. PT, Botox in the bladder, diet change, lifestyle change, saw every specialist I could that were the top of their field and got little to no relief. I finally tried the ketamine treatment as a last ditch effort the day before I left and noticed a difference right away. I then had to find someone out here who would do it. A trusted doctor went on and on and on about Dr Wunnava. 20+ years of experience, competent and compassionate about getting his patients better. He knows my specific needs and how my body reacts so strangely to a lot of medications. He has been encouraging and patient and I trust him 100%. Since I've been doing this treatment, I have stopped having to take ALL medications. I feel like myself again. I now am someone who not only is not stuck in bed and in pain 24/7, but I hike and am able to run! This wouldn't be even a little bit possible without his help. With my condition, flare ups inevitably happen (usually due to a combination of me waiting too long to get treatment and stress) but, at least now I know if/ when that happens, I just need to go in and will be feeling better immediately. Thank you for giving me my life back!
