“There was a little bit of a wait after my scheduled appointment time, but the overall experience made up for it in the end, aided by the fact that I had enough time for the extra wait. The entire staff there was very polite and friendly. My nurse Christina was super pleasant, very efficient and thorough. Unfortunately I have to wait 2 years until I return (unless an unforseen circumstance arises), but I will definitely return and hopefully Christina is still practicing here. Thank you Mercy Urgent Care!“
“I have been coming to this clinic since 2019. Same with my kid. I went a week ago with an embarrassing concern. The care I got from the medical staff that I encountered was wonderful. I was even fitted in for a late ultrasound. The only thing that I do not understand about any- any- urgent care clinic is that HIPPA is not enforced the minute they ask you why you are there with eavesdropping strangers within three feet of you. Not sure what to do in that situation. Except blush. After my visit, my nurse followed up with me. She put in a referral request for the practice I wanted to follow up at. She said to call back in a week if I did not get a call back from a referral agent. I did say that I would call the preferred specialist as well. I had called the specialist before my My Care Now visit, but they did not have a new patient opening until March, hence my visit to MCN. However, I ended up not calling the specialist again because I thought that with a referral in the works combined with my poor verbal skills would cause confusion.A week passed, and I called MCN. The phone menu did not include a referrals option, so I just went with "appointments". I was patched through, gave some details, and then was transferred to the honchos in Asheville. Only to find out that my referral did not exist! I had to explain that the situation was not my doing per se.Conclusion: Human non-compliance of data share. In the end, I called the specialist's office, and got an appointment for February. They stated that they take referrals, which is great to know in case my referral from MCN shows up belatedly.Special Update: This review has been edited and is thus more positive. Mission sent my referral to my chosen specialist possibly while I was typing this original review or even before. Or, a MCN employee saw the original review and realized that a mistake had been made. I am now going to see my specialist a bit earlier.Note: Please see my companion review for "Mission Haywood Primary Care" for semi-related info.“
