“I just left ny first ever dry needling session. The front desk was friendly, fast and courteous to get me seen on a same day appointment. My Dr Alec was so calm, professional, friendly, and thorough to show me exercises to help correct my chronic pain, and then very kind to explain and execute the dry needling process. He left physical notes for me to follow up with and I was out the door in about 30 min from start to finish. No high pressure sales pitch. Just good therapy, and a game plan for moving forward. Thanks for a great experience!
I'll be back...for my back!“

“Who would think that a root canal would require chiropractic care! Needed a root canal and after getting prepped and numb, my left arm began to tingle and had pain radiating from my neck down to my hand. As the drilling started, the pain increased and I was not able to get comfortable. Knowing it wasn’t a cardiac episode, me and the endodontist agreed we should stop the procedure. He recommended TrueMotion as he and his staff had received care from Dr. Clay. Once the novacaine wore off, I called and spoke with Elizabeth. She is awesome and made setting an initial appointment very easy. I met with Dr. Zack and like so many others have commented, he took the time to hear my history, listened intently to what I was currently experiencing and that it was odd to be referred by a endodontist! Seems that along with 50 + years of picking things up and putting them down, some bad posture moments and the pressure put on my shoulder/back from being pitched back in the dental chair was enough to trap the nerves and cause the issue. Dr Zack brought out a remarkable app of the body that reveals layering of skeleton, muscles, nerves etc (He referred to this over and over again throughout my course of treatment) to show me what he thought was happening and his recommendations on how to treat me. He has a way of explaining to the layman how the body compensates and protects itself in situations like this in a way that is easily understandable and put me at ease and offered a clearer picture of treatment and expected outcomes. I’ve had traditional PT after knee and gut surgeries and a bicep tendon tear but Dr Zack’s approach was far more “clinical” then any PT I had worked with before. His approach was fresh and i was totally onboard with him. We had 2 visits a week for the first 3 weeks and Dr Zack used massage, percussion, adjustments and we also used dry needling. The needling was amazing! I could feel the muscle relax around the nerves…just a wonderful experience. Dr Zack went through stretches and many specific targeted exercises that I am still using today some 10 weeks after the initial visit. Dr Zack has a way of motivating you to use those activities to maintain yourself and prevent the issue from returning. Integrating them into your everyday life and tasks makes it more of a small break to stretch throughout the day versus spending an hour a day in a “have to” kind of mood. I did have one visit with Dr Clay and he too reiterated and reinforced my treatment plan. As expected and planned, after 8 weeks, I was able to have the root canal completed and continue to be pain free and comfortable but still continue to have visits to check in and reinforce the behaviors. I can’t speak more highly of TrueMotion and their comprehensive and educating approach to care. Dr Zack and Dr Clay are absolute professionals through and through and make available the latest treatment techniques and methods to achieve much succeses in care. Elizabeth is absolutely amazing in scheduling, billing and just making the environment very pleasant. I look forward to my next appointments because the entire group motivates you to do and be better. Highly Recommended.“

“Amazing experience, extremely pleased. I called around to dozens of physical therapists in Charlotte to find someone who has knowledge and experience with the injury my 16-year old son is recovering from: screw fixation in the 15th metatarsal, resulting from a stress fracture. We met with Greg and there is no question that he knows what he is doing and is very knowledgeable with this specific injury. He was thorough with his evaluation, patiently listened to and replied to all of our considerations and questions, and provided us with an actionable and measurable plan. Each of the other staff members who we met were also very friendly and helpful. I’m confident that we are on the right path forward with Greg and team at our side. Highly recommend.“

“From just 10 days after my ACL surgery, I had the incredible luck of being guided by the best PT team possible: Shannon, Ayisha, and Justin. From the very first appointment, they took the time to understand and align with my goal of playing soccer again, which meant everything to me.

The energy in the office is truly special—full of love, patience, encouragement, and a sense of peace. Being there had a powerful positive impact on me, not only physically but also mentally. You can genuinely feel how much they care.

The trust, teamwork, and unity within this office create an environment where patients who are motivated to improve will absolutely get where they want to be. I’m deeply grateful for their support and dedication.“

“Mike Danenberg is *exceptional*. I’ve had chronic neck pain my entire professional career, and last year developed neurologic pain that had worsened my quality of life significantly. Instead of jumping into steroid treatment, I wanted to first see if the team at Performance Therapy could help - this is after exhausting local PTs, chiro, and massage therapy.

I’m throughly impressed by not only the assessment, but also the therapy received today. Worth a 2 hour commute! The team was very friendly and inviting, too.“

“I have two amazing physiotherapists, Jordan and Oliver. They are unbelievably on target with my therapy and constantly watch for signs I'm not in form. They explain my issues in such depth because I need to understand what I am doing, how to do it, and why I'm doing this movement. They have made me aware of issues, I have developed over time, that i need to correct. I thoroughly trust these two, and am amazed, at my age, I can feel a change for the better! Thank you Oliver and Jordon, I'm sorry I don't tell you how much I appreciate you both. And I also have to mention Grayson, at the front desk. She is just amazing at keeping that office and appointments running smoothly. She's the first I see, when I arrive, and the last as I walk out the door. Grayson, you are amazing! Shame be on Novant for not providing you an assistant! God bless y'all, Jon Palumbo“

“I've always had a great experience with OrthoCarolina, the staff has been great. I worked with them for a knee injury after falling off a scooter. We worked for 2 months to strengthen my knee and core. My knee is so much better. All the DPTs that I worked with were always friendly and professional. Again, thank you.“

“I am a primary care physician. 63 years old. I am also a lifelong athlete and sports enthusiast that has had his share of injuries & strains, orthopedic surgeries, etc. Plus I am getting older so things don’t heal as fast, and have some joints with nagging arthritis. So as such, I have both referred patients to, and have been myself to, many physical therapists, chiropractors, osteopathic MDs, orthopedic surgeons, acupuncturists, deep tissue massage therapists, and others over the years. So when one of my osteopathic MD friends suggested I see Yusuf, I just couldn’t understand what he could do that all these others couldn’t do. But I finally went during the summer of 2021 because I had nagging hamstring strain that was not getting better. He was able to rehab that injury back to health. But he did it by focusing less on the injured tendons/muscles, and more on the surrounding muscles and tendons, strengthening those areas, improving pelvic asymmetry and posture, and providing stretching and strengthening exercises. This allows the injured area to heal more rapidly and naturally.

Yusuf was previously an NBA trainer (I believe for ~8yr) who decided to open his own business. But he also has had training and a lot of experience in multiple other disciplines related to sports medicine, rehabbing injuries, and “functional orthopedic biomechanics.” That is sort of my own term, but basically he knows how all the muscles, tendons and joints function and work together, and also how they can be out of sync with one another, thereby either creating new pains/injuries, or exacerbating existing injuries, or preventing the normal healing process. He is able to keenly assess what the problem is very quickly. He has superb knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and its functions. He is able to formulate a plan and will work with you until you no longer need him.

So I will just tell you some of the things he has successfully helped me with: The nagging hamstring strain I mentioned; nagging calf strain; persistent low back pain; medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow). I have decreased range of motion of my left shoulder from arthritis, which has limited some of the things I want to do. Through manipulation, stretching and proper muscle strengthening, he has improved my range of motion enough that I can do some things I was not able to do, and to improve my ability to lift weights (effectively and safely). I have some arthritis in my left knee that has hampered me. He has helped me strengthen my leg and core so my knee causes me less problems. He even helped train me to get in better shape and function better as a beginner/intermediate kiteboarder.

I believe Yusuf is not just for the athlete. If you are someone who has a persistent musculoskeletal pain that just won’t get better, or musculoskeletal problems that cause you functional limitations, it is probably worth seeing Yusuf to see if he can help. I highly recommend him!
