    I started Pilates a few years ago. After the pandemic I returned to Studio 8 and started taking classes with Penelope Barrow. Penelope is one of the best teachers I have had. Penelope is helping me improve my form and always takes time to explain a movement or exercise, why the form is important and how it should feel. As I look back over the years- the best teachers I have had have always been the hardest. I appreciate when Penelope pushes me as I know it’s in my best interest. I have also enjoyed private sessions and classes with those who have trained/are training under Penelope.     As an older woman with double hip replacements, this studio, and Penelope in particular, were recommended to me to help rebuild strength and mobility. Over the last year I have found community, camaraderie, and physical confidence thanks to Penelope’s guidance and the community of the over 60 class. Everything about Penelope’s teaching has exceeded my expectations and I’m so grateful for her work keeping me healthy no strong despite challenges.

    My husband and I started Pilates for the very first time ~18 months ago. Not a class goes by that we don’t note how lucky we are to have fallen into classes with instructor Penelope Barrow.

    Penelope is incredibly intelligent and highly trained. Her understanding of anatomy and physiology as well as her years of performing professional ballet and doing Pilates leave her uniquely tuned to the needs of the human body.
