Sad to say, but, I spent more than 3 times the amount I normally pay. Being recently retired I allowed the exorbitant price. (Paid more than I was initially quoted at the end.) Then fellow Veterans who were in my same situation were shocked I paid so much to have my taxes done. Long story short; I am now paying another CPA to redo and audit my taxes. They do not know all the rules and paperwork for Veterans. Paying 900 plus and then more in taxes that I'm not supposed to pay, as they do not understand Veterans and such, means, perhaps, as a vet do not go to them.

Make sure you clarify ALL expenses with them before you utilize their tax services. This was the first time I used an accounting service and I told them that, which I regretted as I felt taken advantage of. I was billed 2x more than I was expecting initially (I did not ask what they charged which was totally my bad, but they did not disclose it in our first conversation either). I told the woman I was working with that I was sticker shocked and she apologized and told me she usually has that conversation in the initial consultation. I took that as a "my mistake" but then there was no transparency about ANOTHER fee for to a letter that was necessary to complete the taxes...read full review
