My 5 year old son was playing football in the yard and hit his head on a concrete bird bath. He had a very large gash on his forehead. SMRMC ER was absolutely amazing! They saw the large gash upon arrival, the nurses were so kind and brought him straight to a room, the ER doctor came in immediately and placed his orders. My son was comfortable and stitched up within an hour of our arrival! I was so impressed and could not have been more thankful! Thank you to the nurses who were working yesterday around 330 who acted so quickly and treated my little buddy with such a calm presence. My son had to have his gallbladder removed. At his follow-up appointment he told them he was still experiencing pain so they had him get a CT scan. At the follow up appointment for that, we were told the results showed nothing and that my son was fine. He told the doctor he didn't feel fine and was still experiencing pain. He then asked if he could get his medicine refilled. The doctor's response was "Not from me" so my son asked who do I get it from then. The doctor goes "From the dope house". Completely out of line and an inappropriate response especially to a child.
I was just in this hospital with a very bad case of cellulitis. I was there for three days. Every single day I was in there every single person I came in contact with was extremely courteous, friendly, caring and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about the place. Even when I was getting grumpy towards the end of my stay they gave it back with jokes that made me laugh and apologize for being grumpy. The very bad infection was treated and has healed incredibly fast. I made a point to leave this review because everyone from the doctors to the nurses to house keeping made my three day stay pretty dad gum good.
