Now I’ve been inside the Medical Mall plenty times but yesterday was my first day being inside the Hinds County Health Department (WIC Office). When I first walked inside the gentleman at the front desk ask where I was going and I told him and he told me which way to go. I arrived early because my appointment was scheduled for 8am. I get there and wasn’t anyone back there so I decided to get me some steps in and walked with others. I came back at exactly 8am and someone was at the clerk desk. My overall experience was pretty good. I was seen for an outpatient procedure and from check in to discharge my experience was swell. I was then placed into the care of Mrs. Mary Brooke. She's was well knowledgeable of her work. She made me feel so comfortable and eased my nerves before, during, as well as after, my procedure. Dr. Ellison was a gem. He was in and out... Made the process very smooth. Overall visit went pretty good.
I had a great experience today at the health department. They did their absolute best to work with me. I went to receive some vaccines for travel.
Some important things to know are that you need to make an appointment for the vaccines (maybe not all of them? But it seems most), they do not carry every vaccine (the one I heard was Cholera, though they did carry a yellow fever vaccine while the other clinic didn't), and they do not do prescriptions (probably due to the amount of patients they receive.
