I came into this salon a few years ago sophomore year of high school after a botched box dye session that turned all my hair bright red (I have pale skin too). They were able to discount me and fix my hair after 4 hours of bleaching to the point it was a pastel pink. And then they finally made it the color I was wanting to go, which was burgundy and curled my hair and oh my gosh let me tell you it looked STUNNING. I didn’t want to wash my hair for days because it was glowing. And after all the bleach, my hair wasn’t fried and it was healthy.

Salon 417 is more like a collective rather than an owner/employee situation so I am only rating my particular stylist, Amber Davis Scott. Moving to Columbus from Baltimore, I prayed I would find a rad stylist. When it comes to hair, nothing seems impossible for Amber. She can give you what you ask for or go a little mad scientist and experiment. I highly recommend you pick the latter option ESPECIALLY if you're ready to add a little color to your life and hair. Amber has excellent taste in music, is fun to chat with and, here's the important part, she believes in diversity and inclusion. Her chair is POC and LGBTQIA friendly. I cannot recommend her enough.
