I just received a new Trinity College Octave Mandolin from Music Folk. It was, after adding shipping, the best price I found online. I am in Northern KY so it was also closer. I am very happy with the entire experience of dealing with them. They don't charge for setup, nor labor on other add-ons. They added a pickup and strap peg for very little...just the part cost. They got it all done and out the door very quickly and it arrived looking perfect. I called a few times asking to add the peg and then extra strings... they always answer the phone and are very friendly and helpful.. Buying a new instrument is a big deal for most of us and emotional... I came through the process with gratitude and fully satisfied with the experience.... I will certainly contact them again and recommend them. Many thanks!!
This place is beautiful. You feel amazing as soon as you walk in. Could spend hours there. Staff is so nice and friendly. Can't see my self shopping at the big chain guitar store again.
I love this store! They stuffed a lot of traditional acoustic instruments into a small shop. This place has fiddles, Bodhran, guitars, mountain dulcimers, banjos, ukuleles, and even rhythm bones. I asked one of the shop owners if he's ever seen a Bodhran with a strap mounted to it. He said "no", but then hooked me up with a couple of threaded guitars strap mounts. I grabbed a fat strap, two more sets of rhythm bones, and headed out. When I got home, I cautiously drilled a couple of pilot holes into my Bodhran, then strapped on the strap. What a cool addition. I'm now able to play standing or sitting (in a non-traditional way), when I want to add a little low end rhythm, while playing harmonica.
