Today I did Vinyasa Flow for the first time today at Brick City Yoga with Carolyn. It was my first class ever for yoga & she was a great instructor!!! The space is so calming & super clean! I don't have a yoga mat but I didn't have to worry because they are totally prepared with everything if you forget or don't have anything. I bought a couple a padded during Labor Day weekend because they had some amazing deals! Make sure to check their website to see their packages! Brick City Yoga is conveniently located in Benton Park, check them out!

My girlfriend and I have been taking Andi's Thursday and Sunday Slow Flow class and loving it. We are obsessed and both bought class cards after trying our first class. The studio is full of light and feels spacious with high ceilings and windows. I feel truly comfortable here as a fat, visibly gay woman in an exercise class, which is a rare experience. All the staff and fellow students I have interacted with have been so friendly and welcoming. Andi's class is slow and gentle but at times a little challenging for me as I'm just getting back into yoga; she constantly gives modifications and affirmations in class so that there isn't any weird energy or judgement around needing to do your own thing or modify a pose for a while. I am so glad I have found a space to continue my journey of developing a positive, healthy relationship with exercise and physical activity! Social distancing is enforced in class and everyone practices with mask on, so I feel good about attending in person classes during the pandemic. I can't wait to try some more classes at Brick City!

I took a vacation day to spend Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. It was the first for the first time in 4 years, due to his military service. We started our day by going to Brick City for a 9am Slow Flow class. I am a yoga lover, but it was my boyfriend's first class. We ended up being the only students on this very chilly Valentine's Day! We had our own private class with Betsy. The studio was spacious and relaxing. Betsy explained every pose in a way easy to follow and gave frequent modifications. We will definitely be back and highly suggest taking a class with Betsy.
