I found Justin several years ago thanks to instagram algorithm when I was seeking a local (Kansas City) artist who specialized in handwriting. He was new in his journey as a tattoo artist. And since then, he’s come into his own.

He is kind and easy going which makes for a great appointment whether you like to nap or chat or both. I also find his pressure to be on the lighter side. He is prompt in responding to emails and covers all topics addressed and even those you might have forgotten. He’s well networked within the community and loved by numerous artists. So if your idea isn’t in his wheelhouse, he’s able to connect you with someone who can be a great fit. He’s an excellent handwriting artist and a unique watercolor artist. He knows colors so well to create a palate for your design and one that will mesh well with existing tattoos. I cannot draw and sometimes have a hard time articulating the image in my minds eye. From the beginning, Justin just has a knack for quickly knowing his clients and creating a design that is totally them and one that stays true to him as an artist. The end result has always exceeded anything I could have ever come up with.

I no longer live in the Kansas City area but love that he’s an attending artist at festivals across the US. I have not had the opportunity to visit Dear You in person but I’ve heard nothing but positive things about this studio and hope to visit one day.

I have more of his artwork on me than any other of my frequented artists.

“The place looked closed because it was dark, but Byron let me in and asked me what I was looking for. He was calm, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. My request was pretty simple: a lavender ribbon for all cancers. He drew a sketch pretty quickly, made what little changes I suggested, and we were ready. The facility is very cool with the AC running hard, which was a relief. The body gets hot when facing extended exposure to pain. Byron was personable and talkative, not to mention incredibly talented and very gentle. New equipment was opened in front of me, written after-care instructions were provided, they only take cash but have an ATM on site INSIDE (kudos for that detail). My simple tattoo looked 3 dimensional, like a sticker by the time he was done. I am thoroughly impressed, and the price was more than reasonable. Thanks, Byron! “Stopped by here today to see the tattoo exhibits. We didn’t realize it was also a tattoo parlor so that was an added bonus! Lots of original art on the walls. It was neat to see it in person. There were a few shirts for sale in the window. My favorite part was the actual old photographs in the back room in the glass case. They were epic. Loved the history and nostalgia.“

“Went by the past weekend to schedule getting a back piece done. Was flexible in my needs as I was somewhat limited on my time in the area. Showed up Monday at noon and Aubrey was waiting and ready to go. His stencil was exactly what I was looking to do. He did a fantastic job and we spent the day with him fleshing everything out. The other people in the shop are very laid back and you can tell this is a close group of friends. I highly recommend him to handle any ink you want done.

My wife had gotten a smaller tattoo on her lower leg from Jasper and she absolutely loves it.
