The first thing to know is that Carol is gracious and has great taste. She is a good conversationalist, but also comfortable with silence. You don't get bored sitting in her chair; you feel like you are getting great service. She's smart and adept at communication and learning about a customer's hoped-for result. You can trust her insights about what will work for you. She gives beautiful haircuts. I leave the shop looking like someone who has her shit together, and the look lasts because she understands the structure of my hair and face. I have thick hair and I let too much time pass between haircuts. It takes longer to sort me out. I also have ridiculous expectations about having hair that you wash and maybe comb out but always looks as good as it can. Carol is the stylist who has come closest to letting me hang onto this illusion, i.e. I think that she is good at understanding how skilled her customer is and how much time she is going to spend on styling her look at home.

Moxie is a great salon! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! I got a great haircut, amazing blowout and all for a very reasonable price! I will definitely be back and I recommend giving this place a try. Walk in or appointment :)

There are 3 things a woman in KC cannot live happily without. A great doctor; a reliable/honest/knowledgeable car mechanic; and a serious hair dresser. Vickie @ Moxie is my talented and professional stylist. She is good at both color and cutting. The woman is experienced, serious about her work, as well as FUN and interesting. I wish my doctor were half as competent. Sad but true.
