Mack has been cutting my sons hair for about 7 years now. We love the small town feel of Route B, and we love the fact that the experience is more personal than it is at your typical chain locations.
My kid has always been a pain when it comes to getting his hair cut (even still at 17), but Mack has always been great with him. He keeps him engaged, and does exactly what is asked of him as far as the cut goes. At this point, he remembers what we want, so my son just goes in and sits down, and he doesn't have to go through the 1 million questions that he would get somewhere else.
If you're looking for amenities like potted plants and padded leather chairs, look elsewhere. This is a barbershop which emphasizes two things: exceptional skill and exceptional customer relations. I have never seen a bad haircut walk out of that shop, and no matter how busy they may be, they don't rush their work. As for customer relations, when my grandson sustained a scarring scalp injury in a car accident, Mac was right there to cut around the stitches. Only go to this barbershop if you are worthy of that kind of character. And another thought - Mac is a worthy role model for your kids, and his shop is very family friendly.
