“Star rating is for our walk-in experience with Access Family Care. We were new to town and our baby was sick and needed to be seen as soon as possible. Our family had been loyal to the network of Mercy hospital and clinics for years. So it came as quite a shock when I called the Mercy Clinic in our new town to find out that they would not see my daughter unless we declared them as her primary care physician, and even then would not be able to give her an establishing appointment until the following month. I couldn't quite understand how this was benefiting patients within the Mercy network, especially small children, in an urgent situation. After calling every Mercy clinic in the surrounding area, I realized that system was broken and we needed to look elsewhere. Enter Access Family Care. Out of desperation, we walked in and were greeted with a friendly staff and a clean waiting room. They were not able to get us in then and there but scheduled us for that afternoon. This was more than ok because we just walked in and they didn't have any record of us, and it was a friday so waiting through the weekend was not an option. We came back a few hours later for appointment. We were seen right away, they were able to get all of the necessary records through our insurance, and the treatment was impeccable. Very knowledgeable nurse who was able to take blood without our baby even noticing! And a seasoned doctor who was easy to talk to and did not belittle our concerns as new parents. After a couple more issues with Mercy since, I am now considering switching to Access for primary care for the family.“
