The Anesthesiologist was a not friendly the day of surgery. Melissa Brown. I prepaid for the services $1540. 3 weeks later I receive a bill for another $220 and when we called to ask what the charge was for Bridget couldn't give a reason except say if we don't pay it they would send us to collections. I said fine. The $220 is not worth my time. So I got online to pay and of course their billing is down. Dealing with Bridget was a terrible experience and made me want to give them a yelp review.

I have had 2 recent procedures, one in May and the other in September, both of which required anesthesia. I am a Mercy patient and Mercy contracts their anesthesiologists through Western Anesthesiology Associates. The care I received from them was beyond good. They are all caring, professionals who are very good at their jobs. EXCELLENT care from them. My issue is, every time I've had any procedures requiring anesthesia, I'm left with a large balance to pay off. I have talked to other patients and friends and family and I am not alone in this complaint. I don't know why but for some reason, insurance covers little to none of WAA's services. This also hit me particularly hard this time as my wife lost her job right after I had open heart surgery in May and the bill from WAA is not easy to pay having lost more than half or our household income. Just a word of warning to double check, before they put you under, that you're covered.

I have been going here and seeing Dr Smith for a while now I like Dr Smith and overall, I would say he does a great job. The nursing staff I would say are not the most attentive or friendly I recently had a radio frequency ablation procedure under sedation I was given a glass of water right after the procedure and then rushed out the door I would say they let me sit perhaps five minutes then rushed me out the door I was still not completely alert due to sedation when they sent me out the door and noticed only after I got to the car that they never took the Iv out of my arm I am on oxygen and obviously was in a lot of pain from the procedure my husband went in to tell them about the iv situation and they told him I would have to walk back in to the building and have the Iv removed he told them I was in pain and was not walking back in to the building so they had someone come to my car in the parking lot and remove my Iv I hate to leave a bad review because like I said the Dr was great He may not have even been aware of what happened but I do have a great concern about the nursing staff and their abilities and performance when they rush a patient out the door with an Iv still in their arm .Then expect the patient to come back in the building for it to be taken out while in pain and on oxygen.
