I didn't have a choice in going to the hospital, just woke up there. Going forward, I would honestly just die. These folks are relentless with collections. Their financial aid office was no help. Next time just die, it's better than broke.
Took son in on a Sunday morning for stitches in his chin. No one in the waiting room. 5 people listed on the TV screen. My kid sat in his room and was finally seen over an hour after arrival. This place is a circus. Most employees are decent, the rest are rude and crabby, including some of the doctors. In fact my high school kid was in the ER for a sports injury in December. We asked for some pain killers and The ER doctor proceeded to lecture him on the sale of Oxycodone and how he will go to prison if hes caught selling them. WTH? No more. Any future after hour visits will be done in Maplewood or Regions. This place is pathetic.
I went to the ER around 2:30 Sunday morning having excruciating pain in my left side abdomen, was going to go down to Woodwinds but couldn't stand the pain so decided to go to the Wyoming Fairview ER. When I walked in there wasn't anyone in the waiting area, the people at the front desk were very helpful, a nurse called my name in literally a minute. The nurse was very nice and compassionate, she brought me into a room. She immediately got all the necessary info, then another nurse installed the IV. The doctor came in right away, he told me what he thought my issue could be and said he'd have a CT scan done to see for sure. He was very nice and prescribed dilaudid for the pain, the nurse came back in and I had the pain med within a couple minutes. Feeling much better, a lab tech (also very nice) came in and wheeled me down to get my CT scan then wheeled me back to my room. I told my nurse that the pain was a bit worse, as they had started with a minimal dose of dilaudid the nurse was able to administer another dose which removed all my pain. Waited for the CT scan results for 20-30 minutes which was fine because I needed a rest. The doctor came back in and explained the scan results thoroughly, I did have to ask for a pain med prescription which he agreed to. (it's always difficult to get meds for pain due to the politics now injected into our health care). In conclusion I have heard negative things about the Wyoming MN Fairview and I believe the people that have had those experiences, I can only speak to my experience that I had in the ER which in my opinion was excellent.
