This clinic was so accommodating and helpful in getting the treatment underway promptly and frequently. St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2742 15th Ave S, Minneapolis“This is a nice FREE clinic. They have a lot of support and comprehensive care! You go into the clinic and the receptionists will check you in. You are seen in order of first-come first serve. Then a nurse will see you. After the nurse, a patient care lead will see you. This person will advocate for you and they also have Spanish translators if you need it. If they think that you are at a high risk for kidney disease or have a family history of someone with kidney disease, the medical clinician will order a lab test for you. A lab technician checks your urine to check your kidney function. After, you can go on with your normal visit. There’s also pharmacy clinician who comes up with the best plan for medications you can take. They then go to see a doctor and s/he will come in to see you and give you the prescription. After, they send you to the pharmacy and you can get a month supply of prescription medication for free. The whole process takes 1-2 hours because everyone here is a student volunteer but if you have time, they provide very thorough care!“

606 24th Ave S, Minneapolis“Inclusive clinic with absolutely amazing staff. Especially the nurses, and Dr. Darnell. They are compassionate and dedicated. They treat everyone as an equal. I got my full hysterectomy here when I was 24. Best decision of my life. They helped me do what was best for my body. Darnell took it as seriously as I did. Other doctors tried to gaslite me into thinking a nine month long "period" and blackouting out due to pain were "normal women things". This clinic saved my life and I am forever grateful. Do not listen to the man who gave this woman's clinic a one star review.“

909 Fulton St SE 1st floor, Minneapolis“I've had many positive experiences at the lab over the past year. I've been to the lab several times. Like the rest of this facility, it's super efficient, fast, and relatively painless. I've never had to wait more than 10 of 15 minutes before I got service...whether it was a blood draw or an X-ray. The RFID thing always seems to catch me off guard. When you're standing in front of staff at the main desk, they know exactly who you are! Your RFID tag tells them. They still have to ask you and confirm. But still...it's pretty cool. As a side benefit, the 1st floor lab entrance is very close to the piano. So while waiting in the lobby, you're often soothed by the music of live piano, a harp, or (like last week), a guitar player! Thanks, U of M, for making unpleasant visits a little more bearable. -Daddy Maxx Retro“

1516 E Lake St Suite 1512, Minneapolis“This was the best hospital/urgent care experience I have ever had! Everyone in the office was extremely caring and respectful, and treated me like a real human being. Even though I was struggling pretty hard that day, they did everything they could to ensure that I was well taken care of. And since I was unfamiliar with the area, they even took the extra time to help me locate a good pharmacist that they knew would take care of me and the prescriptions I needed. I will never be able to thank them enough for the kindness they showed me that day, and would definitely recommend them for urgent care if you are in the area.“
“I appreciate, respect, and like my doctor, Doctor Simon Fenton.
Doctor Fenton continues to be the most proficient, professional, caring, personable, and competent Physician or any type that I have engaged in the last 60+ years.
I began seeing Doctor Fenton after he quickly and correctly diagnosed a serious problem that my wife had when others simply ignored her symptoms.
My then current PCP left the area, so I endeavored to become his patient.
I continue to use Allina because of my consistently positive experiences with him for years.
I especially appreciate that he is analytical, and strives to get to the bottom of things rather than going through the motions as other physicians used to do.
Over that last 30+ years, I have noted that the professional and support staffs at various United and Allina facilities have improved greatly. (From indifferent robots to engaged, professional, and caring healthcare partners.)
I love my doctor, but find some procedural aspects of Allina and the United Hospital organization are less and less effective. My personal experiences note that year by year, the Doctors and Assistants work hard to keep me well, but have less time to address real issues due to new policies and practices instituted by "the home office". I get 20 minutes of my PCP's time, which he spends mostly "checking boxes" in order to stay off the clinic's "naughty list".
FORTUNATELY, Doctor Fenton is a great multitasker and provides excellent care.
He and his support staff are forced go through unnecessary steps (like sending in extra prescriptions (to fill when requested) to avoid calls from a pharmacist, which affects his review - even though it's the dysfunctional pharmacy. United and Allina need to work with and pharmacies or their professional organizations to fix this structural problem
At reception, I get forms asking if I have a good home life and a place to stay, but never ask how my actual health is, or what might might be troubling me.
Both organizations need to get back to basics, rather than marketing metaphorical "Underwater Birthing Centers" and such. They should let their professionals practice, and quit micromanaging them. Also no more remodeling while milking a 30 year old imaging machine.
Thank You!“
