I’m not knocking the great knowledge regarding investing by Schwab, but I am berating the set up/design of the physical place. I brought my very elderly mother to the branch in Wayzata because there were things she could not do online. My tiny little mother can barely walk or stand up without assistance but there was no reception desk with a chair. The poor woman had to stand to do paperwork and finally she was directed across the lobby to a chair. When I approached the woman at the front desk and told her the place was not “elderly friendly”, she basically dismissed my concerns by pointing to the chair my mother was sitting in. As if she thinks it’s easy for an elderly, disabled woman to be taking all those steps? The youthful employee is absolutely wrong. Do young people not realize how much energy our elders put out just to stand up?Well young people, you will be old and limited in your abilities someday and I hope by then lobby design will be transformed to make it easier for you to get around. Until then, take your “ableist only” attitude somewhere else. It’s not needed here or anywhere else.Schwab, please change your lobbies so that elderly folks can have a pleasant experience. Even offering a wheelchair would be nice.
