We initially stopped here on a whim while window shopping through Virginia's old town for a quick drink, a bathroom break & some shade but ended up having great conversation & a fabulous time hanging out with the bartender. She made the kids their first ever Shirley Temples (kids said they were "bomb!"), happily added extra olives to my martini (which was lovely) & told us where to find the best thrift shops (vital information!).All in all a super cool human whom we were so glad to have met!MIL & I were so glad that we stopped in.

Wonderful veterans and volunteers. Make you feel right at home when you walk in the door. The amount of community service in Virginia they do is outstanding. What really stood out to me was the fact that they give up Thanksgiving with their own families to feed those who have no family to be with or those who would not be able to afford a Thanksgiving dinner.I am a born and raised Ranger, but spent 30 years in the Minneapolis area. I spent a lot of time volunteering at churches that fed and had beds for a limited amount of homeless. I asked about any American Legion that do what you do from an American Legion member who volunteered and sadly he told me none that he knew of and he volunteers throughout both Minneapolis and St. Paul daily. This I found sad.Thank you for your service and thank you for all you do for each other and our community.Cordially,Olga Powers
