Ordered check stock, as I have several times over the years. In the last order, the paper stock is thin and flimsy, like cheap copy paper. Cannot even discuss with Deluxe, chat line is not even answered. Do not order check stock Deluxe.
I ordered a "box" of check and they sent two books. The checks were absurdly expensive, and whatever shipping they used (bulk mail, maybe?) took 16 days to get them to my mailbox. I have no respect for this outfit.
I do not have a printer. I do not have a fax machine. I was reviewing my accounts and realized that I was missing a $2,500 refund of a deposit from an auction house. I discovered that they refunded the deposit using a Deluxe e-check three MONTHS earlier. What is a Deluxe e-check? It is an email with a image of a check in PDF format. Deluxe expects e-check recipients to download a PDF of the e-check and then print it. My bank does not take PDFs of checks. I don't have a printer. Deluxe support recommended that I purchase a memory stick and bring the file down to an office store to print. I imagine I would have to also buy an adapter to connect my tablet to the memory stick. Don't know. Don't want to know. I asked Deluxe to just print the check and mail it to me. They refused. I asked Deluxe for a direct electronic deposit. They refused. They said I had to take it up with the auction house. Seriously, Deluxe should just provide a paper check option or an electronic deposit option upon customer request. That would make their e-check platform less onerous. The auction house said that to get a paper check, I would have to pay them a fee to issue a stop-payment of the e-check. I am giving Deluxe two stars because my $2,500 has not been completely lost but as of now I have not been able to retrieve it. UPDATE: After nine days, I was able to find a way to print the e-check. I carefully cut it out and tried to deposit it at my Citibank's ATM. The ATM rejected it. I will have to return during business hours to see a live teller. Arg!
