[solidcore] Pilates

“I absolutely love Solidcore. It is a very humbling workout even if you're in the best shape of your life. I love the studio gym vibe. And only 50 minutes he can get a good shake and sweat. I just wish the music wasn't so loud. Feels like I'm in a nightclub and I can't hear what the instructor is saying. The maple grove studio doesn't seem ad busy as the other studios so you can get in with class pass much easier, with lower points.“

539 Lake St E, Wayzata
the barre Wayzata Pilates

“I think I was spoiled by my taking my first barre class here! The lovely studio overlooks the lake and the instructor Isabel McNulty was awesome. The workout was difficult but not the sweaty, fatigue of cardio. It was so focused! I could FEEL it (I was shaking a couple times). It wasn't painful; I felt the 'good' burn. It felt so productive and the hour actually flew by. As a dancer in my youth, I could pick up the form pretty easily which made it enjoyable as well. The instructor was also top notch! She used a microphone, corrected our form 1:1 when needed, gave 'modification' options (this rookie needed them!), reminded us of our breathing, and was encouraging. She did not talk every second of the class, mumble or yell, and I thank her for that. Bonus - there was an option for childcare; we didn't use it on this day, but it's so helpful to know that it's available. Thank you for a great barre experience!“

Awaken Pilates Studio - Minnetonka Pilates

“Heartwarming. Healing. Restorative. I love the small classes. They max out at 6 students. Instructors are all very consistent in how they lead their classes: 1. Nice variety in exercise 2. Great attention to the unique needs of every student 3. Excellent cues and attention to coaching proper form without overwhelming students I feel like I progress in every class bc each instructor also brings their own flavor and vibe getting to know their students and helping them advance. Studio is clean and cheery. Equipment is well maintained. Instructors are extremely caring, knowledgeable, and empathetic. Notes for those considering pilates for the first time. Start with private lessons. Get the basics down. Then switch to a class that consistently has 6 or less students. A good instructor should be very hands on and have the ability to coach all students in their class vs just call out the sequence. pilates is all about proper form and fine tuning of muscles for optimum performance. Too large of a class and you won't get the optimal benefit out of the class bc the instructor won't be able to individually observe and guide you.“

Bodiology Pilates Pilates

“Wonderful pilates studio with a great instructor. Pilates is a great low impact way to get active - especially if you are just starting out. And Bodiology is a great place to learn. The studio is conveniently located off of 394 with plenty of parking. Inside it has high ceilings, skylights, hardwood floors with boho carpets and a fireplace. It’s warm and welcoming space. Not intimidating and cold like so many gyms! The instructor, also a Catherine, is patient and really cares that you learn and take care of your body. She is great at explaining everything and matching the speed at which you learn. I really enjoy working with her! Check out her Groupon specials for beginners, but make sure the times work for you before purchasing :).“

I had a history of martial arts and also distance running, some weight lifting in college, but My training was stalled and I was not balanced. Michael’s creative and fun workouts were challenging and he had me doing things I never thought I could physically. He told me I would do them and I did. He is there with you bringing his indomitable spirit and enthusiasm. I’ve seen him work with clients of all ages and abilities from kids to grandparents. From fitness to outdoor experiences, from biking trips to climbing a mountain, Michael is equipped to help you reach your goals. Viverant Physical Therapy Pilates

“I've been working with Katrina for a couple of months. She is kind, caring, and compassionate. She gently pushes me to complete my "homework" but never makes me feel bad or shameful when it doesn't happen. Katrina has a wide variety of experience in the PT world and with complementary modalities like Pilates, which makes her SO knowledgeable and well-rounded when treating her patients. She has been able to meet me where I'm at, and develop an individualized plan to get me functional again. I have been able to see improvement I didn't see with previous PTs. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone in need of pelvic floor PT.

I also recently started to see Julie as well. Julie is wonderful to work with and working with her has been helpful to keep me on track with movement each week. She is a stickler (in the best way!) for moving and breathing correctly through each movement, which is exactly what I need! I would highly recommend working with Julie as well!“

“The class always goes by super fast because you are just focused on pushing yourself as far as possible. They just put up a campaign that says "failing together" and that is exactly why I love this workout. You push to your limit in a very controlled way and you feel stronger for it.“
