This place is a hidden gem. The staff is friendly and accommodating at every turn. Dr. Maltry is absolutely fantastic, and she was very patient and thorough answering all of my (at times extensive) questions. Protip: even if you don't want contact lenses, you should make an appointment to visit with Sandy. He's such a wonderful, engaging personality. "Eye exam day" is neither the time or place I expect to be walking out of a doctors office smiling, but it seems to happen every time I come here.

I had same issue in both eyes requiring cataract surgery about 18 months apart. In the first case, I went to the place you always hear advertised with the light adjustable lens. I was very dissatisfied with what I was sold and the results. More conversations with my retina surgeon, and some info from him on what should be. Did some more searching of reviews and referrals, and selected Dr. Engman at Southdale. Had a great experience, the information he provided in the consult matched what my retina surgeon had provided (not the case with the other place). Such a super clinic of intelligent conscientious and genuine doctors ! I have seen Dr's Engman, Croissant, Mellema, and Maltry over the years ?!Each took patient time with me , fully understood and answered my issues/needs .Another value is their office has quick access with parking right outside their lobby ?. No ramp no elevators no cold walk , how refreshing . I left my water in the car it took 30 seconds to retrieve it.I have also enjoyed working with their friendly helpful support staff all super people.
