About The Tongue and Groove Store
The Tongue & Groove Store, founded in 2009, is a reputable wood products manufacturer known for providing high-quality solid wood products at wholesale prices. The company uses select grades of 100% kiln-dried lumber, processed on-site with modern equipment and in-house CAD capabilities, ensuring consistent quality and minimal waste. The store's mission is to deliver maximum greatness through a commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, while continuously improving their processes to eliminate waste. Customers have generally been very pleased with their experiences at The Tongue & Groove Store. Many praise the store's beautiful, knot-free wood and excellent customer service. The staff is described as helpful and knowledgeable, going the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. However, not all experiences have been positive. One customer reported a significant delay in receiving their $27,000+ order, with poor communication and damaged products upon arrival. The customer faced challenges in resolving the issue, describing the owner's response as unhelpful. Despite this isolated negative experience, the majority of reviews highlight The Tongue & Groove Store's commitment to quality, value, and customer service. Customers who have worked with the store, particularly the owners Kyle and Ann, as well as Evan, have expressed their appreciation for the store's dedication to their projects and willingness to provide valuable suggestions and support. Overall, The Tongue & Groove Store appears to be a reliable and customer-focused business, offering high-quality wood products and exceeding the expectations of many of its clients.
I should've read the reviews first, no surprise they're awful. I placed a very large, and very expensive order, in Sept of 2024. The company told me to expect a 3 month lead time, that I'd have my products in December. I paid the full $27,000+ up front, and waited patiently, during which I placed another $2,000 mistake with them. Very little communication, and December came and went with no doors. It was March, over 6 months from the order date, when they finally arrived. The owner's laziness goes beyond not communicating, it goes to packaging as well. My $1,000/piece doors were wrapped in a single layer of cardboard. My grocery store does better. Not surprisingly, 7 of the doors were damaged in shipping. We made a claim with the freight company, whose driver couldn't believe they used 1 piece of cardboard, photographed everything, and notified the T/G Store who couldn't care less. They told me they would not order new doors until I paid for a second order of doors, or the freight company reimbursed them. I finally got a phone call with the owner after threatening legal action, and she was as helpful as a blade of grass. About as smart as one too. She told me over and over how I had to "have skin in the game" and that they would ship my order when they get paid for it. SHE HAS $29,000+ OF MY MONEY STILL. It's now June 2025, over 9 months, and they still haven't fulfilled my order. Do yourself a favor, burn your money instead of paying the T/G Store, it'll go farther.
I was a little worried about ordering a pallet of wood long distance (I live in Florida) but wanted a custom color and finish so I took a shot. I’m glad I did. They worked with me to choose the best wood for my project and then matched my color perfectly. 500 sq feet arrived in perfect shape and my project is well in process. Thank you Ann Anderson for a great experience.
I have been a repeat customer of Kyle’s for years. There’s a reason for that. He is highly dedicated and highly motivated to perfect his craft; blending knowledge with experience. He provides stunning, quality product created right here in the USA, and backs each and every product with exceptional customer service. You’re not completing an empty transaction at a big box store that ultimately only cares about the contents of your wallet. Here you will find true pride in craftsmanship and commitment to fine detail. This is a family business with family values. You matter. Your input and ideas are respected. Most importantly of all, you are appreciated. If buzzwords are your thing, here’s a few: Honesty. Integrity. Diligence. Proficiency. Acumen. Innovation. Environmental Consciousness. You get the idea! From start to finish you will find Kyle, Ann, and their entire staff to be warm, welcoming, and eager to help you make your design dreams a reality. I absolutely recommend The Tongue and Groove Store for your next project…and your next…and your next!
