I’m from Minneapolis and have always been loyal to my barber. When my family moved to the southern metro area, I spent the first 3 years driving to North Minneapolis every Friday because I have always been very particular about my cuts. One day, I was in the Burnsville Center and decided to roll the dice. I walked in a as skeptical as most dudes are who appreciates a quality fade (crisp line, brush or bald fade, razor line, etc). When I walked in, it was busy, so I didn’t have time to survey the scene to figure out which chair I needed to jump in. I jumped in with Seneca. Dude was butter with the clippers! I continued to go to him for several years, but as I got to know the other barbers, I was able to see their work. Over the years, I’ve been to Boomer, Royal, Sen, Joey, Detroit, takeIa, the young cat who went to Washburn H.S. (Can’t remember his name, but he might be the best barber in the state 25 years and younger)….I even got in the chair with the white Woman barber who was there for a few years (can’t recall her name - but she got down as good as everyone else). I’ve never been to a shop where everyone in the shop could get down. My main barber in the shop is George. Dude can cut all styles of hair and will suggest different styles that fit your head and hair type/texture. I never write reviews, but I read a bunch of negative reviews regarding this shop, and as a long time customer, even I have to wait (if I haven’t scheduled an appointment). That comes with the territory. The shop is clean and modern - it is your quintessential sports barber shop. The individuals in the shop have always been respectful - if I bring my kids with me, the conversation and language is different than the times when I visit on my own. People talk s*** in barber shops. I mean, that’s the culture. If the shop is filled with adults and the conversation feels disrespectful or uncomfortable, I promise you, the guys would respect your wishes if you mention to any employee & asked for a conversation switch. Conversations range from religion to politics, to music, to sports and more. If you are in a time crunch, get your favorite barber’s phone number and you will be in and out. If you are looking for crisp cut, Shear Innovations is the place to go! I appreciate the energy and comraderie. Y’all don’t know it, but visiting Shear Innovations is therapeutic for me. Keep shining Kings!!
