Mayo Clinic Optical Store - Albert Lea

The Albert Lea clinic used to be reliable, then the Mayo clinic (not unlike Walmart), pared it down to the bare bones to increase their absolute control and profit margin. If you do go, be prepared to wait, perhaps hours, to see a Physicians Assistant in Urgent Care; then it's weeks more waiting to see one of the few specialists left on site. Or, if you are in bad shape, be prepared for a 30 minute Ambulance ride to Mayo's pet clinic in Austin. I suggest your looking into Mason City for Health Care.

Terrible! If I could rate zero stars I would. Always takes almost 2-4+ hours to get seen in urgent care. The amount of time you have to wait to see someone is ridiculous. And you don't see an actual doctor, it's a PA. Even if you want to see your provider they are booked out by 3 months all the time!! Insane.

If you are looking for timely car on a weekend this is not the place to get it. The tech in the lab claims to be the only one on duty for the ER and Urgent Care Clinic as well as the Hospital. Took over 1 1/2 hours to get blood drawn and ekg, with the run around received from the lab tech. Her response after she finally answered the bell for service, took over 1/2 hour, was "I'm the only one here and there is nothing I can do about it you will just have to wait." Surprising how being the only one changed after I demanded to speak with the Head Nurse. It should be noted that this fiasco in patient care was only causing more pain for my 85 year old father... read full review
