Fantastic service! It took almost a month to get in, but I think that’s because they do good work. I had a battery drain issue that I spent months trying to figure out and they had it diagnosed and fixed before lunchtime. It was a super obscure problem (alternator harness was incorrectly pinned) — something that never occurred to me to even look for. Consider me a very happy customer!
My golden doodle is about 2 1/2 years old. Her level of energy and excitability was difficult to handle after moving to a city setting from a rural one. Walking on the leash, barking at neighborhood children playing outside, and obeying her basic commands were real problems. My husband and I plan to travel with our dog, so I enrolled her in the Stay and Train program at West Michigan K9 for 4 weeks .
The trainer was very good at listening to my concerns and focusing on the issues that were problems. Once training began, I received a report and video of my dog’s progress 3 times a week. It was so rewarding seeing her progress. I was able to communicate with them via text or phone about any questions or concerns. At the end of the training, I had my first follow up and spent an hour there learning the commands and working with the trainer. It was amazing to see my dog so focused and in control of her behavior. The trainer was patient and made sure I understood everything, answering all my questions.
It is important to realize, it is up to me to follow through on daily reinforcement of the training, which I do with confidence. I walk my dog on the leash daily and go through the commands once or twice a day indoors and out. If I had to place a number on the degree of improvement it would be a 8/10 with 10 being perfect and her starting point a 3. I can walk her on the training collar without any issues. Kids on bikes, squirrels running on the sidewalk, and people walking by with their dogs no longer causes my dog to lose it. The more I walk with her and give her positive reinforcement or the needed correction sound, she is focusing on me and the walk. This is pure joy for me.
The basic commands are rock solid, too,
I am still working on greeting people who come to the door and the “bark feast “ at the fence with the neighbor dogs. These issues are improving and I received helpful instructions at my recent second follow up with the trainer yesterday.
The investment of money and time is so worth it since it will last a lifetime for my dog. So, it’s a big “YES “ I would recommend West Michigan K9 for training your dog.

HUGE shout-out to Matt Baker at Baker Electric (see photo for contact info). I hired Matt to do some electrical work at my house. Let me tell you, he explained everything to me in terms that I could understand. Also, he told me multiple options that I could do with a MAJOR electrical issue in my home. One of the main reasons that I hired an electrician is because I had outlets that would spark when I tried to use them and I had a hallway light that would work intermittently. For the hallway light, Matt replaced one of the switches and it was fine for a couple of days and started working intermittently again. I messaged Matt and he came right back out. He replaced the other hallway switch and then said, "You have the wrong kind of light bulbs in there." I was honestly thinking, "What? A lightbulb is a lightbulb." So not true! After my Electrical 101 lesson from Matt, I learned that some bulbs are rated for enclosed light fixtures and some are not. Who knew? Sure enough, the bulbs I had purchased at Menards were not rated for enclose fixtures (see pic for example). He said with the old incandescent bulbs it didn't matter but with LED bulbs it does. I NEVER knew that! The bulb package actually says what it's rated for. So gateful for the info! Thanks Matt! You rock!
We used Florista to deliver a sympathy arrangement to a client of ours that was local to West Olive. Erin was so nice and so helpful! She was fast, and sent us a picture of our order when it was delivered. She picked out flowers for a beautiful arrangement. I highly recommend her services!
Tervoort Builders built our home (before we bought it) in the early nineties, and built an outbuilding for us in the early 2000's. They just finished an amazing remodel of the main floor and did a perfect job. I didn't even bother contacting other builders-they are the best. Casey is amazing.Ed should probably think about retiring...;)
