Mary has a talent for creating space you want to be in, and the safety and peace to be yourself. Getting a haircut, especially a big change can be challenging. She sees the person you are and makes sure your hair suits your face shape, your head shape, your style!She is an artist with scientific precision. An alchemical magician who coaxes the best out of whatever your hair can do.She knows what products to use (all natural) and has a lovely inviting space. I made an appointment at Tonic after a couple of coworkers of mine told me that they go here. Both of these ladies have great hair...so I knew I'd be in good hands. I made an appointment with Chris, solely based on availability, and did I ever luck out. Chris was amazing. She LISTENED to what I wanted and what my concerns were. We literally sat in front of the mirror together before she did anything so I could talk to her about what I liked and didn't like about my hair. She immediately understood what I was after and she totally FIXED MY HAIR! After she was done she asked me to run my hands through my hair just to double check that I was good with how the cut was going to lay, etc. This is the first time in over a year that I woke up the day after a cut and loved my hair. What a relief! I finally found my stylist! :) I am so thrilled to have found Tonic and Chris. The space is creative and comfortable...the staff are friendly and funny. Love this place. I love Chris. I am a big fan. Check it out.

Excellent stylists and affordable prices. Alicia gave me the best color I have ever had. Also, now I'm happy to see my favorite Traverse City aesthetician, Tonya, has moved to Tonic so I can get everything done in one place.
