Okemos Barber Shop is not only the gem of Okemos, but in my opinion the gem of Meridian Township! Been coming here off and on my whole life and have always been treated like family. Covid definitely changed things for me and my son thank goodness started cutting my hair. Today was different and I had my old friend Vince whom I’ve known for years cut my hair. I feel like a new man literally. Vince is old school he takes his time, awesome conversation, goes overboard to make sure your hair is perfect and finishes with the old school warm shaving cream and straight razor on your neck line. Vince is terrific. He always cuts my hair exactly how I like it, even when I decide to go longer or shorter than the previous cut. I feel refreshed after each cut, and pleased. It's especially good to frequent a locally owned business vs. a chain.

Chris was great. I brought in my 2 1/2 yr old grandson for his first professional hair cut. He doesn't like ppl touching his hair very much. Chris was fantastic with him, made him feel at ease and worked very well with him moving quite a bit. I gave him my phone which helped. I was very impressed and very pleased with the atmosphere, kindness and the patience of Chris and the staff. This place has been open for over 61 yrs which was a preference of mine cause I wanted a place with experience and I found it at the Okemos Barber shop. We even traveled 40 minutes to go there. Well worth the time and $ I spent for the hair cut & gas.Recommend for every male young... read full review
