Nurse and NP were extremely friendly in their walk in appointment area for work physicals. The wait time was minimal. Not many places that you see everyone smiling while working anymore.

I love Providence Hospital! All of my Dr's work out of this Hospital or the main one in Southfield, MI. I wouldn't go anyplace else. They are great, they care and the Dr's are exceptional. But the other day I went to get a blood test and once again, I was not treated in a kind or professional way by a Phlebotomist named "Barb"! Awhile back, I had to call a main office because she gave me a hard time when I asked for the "smaller needles" because I have a painful nerve disease called RSD/CRPS; and any little "hurt" can turn into a huge flare of nerve pain for weeks or months, for me! She gave me attitude that day and she was rude. But that day isn't what I'm writing about today, because that was then and this is now. But nothing's changed. I walked into the lab draw in Livonia, MI at Mission Health/Providence Medical Center. I was smiling and friendly when no one was standing or sitting in the area and I wrote my name down on the "list" and the time that I arrived. I waited a few minutes and out of the restroom came "Barb".The woman who had not been kind to me in the past. Now when you are on blood thinners, and you have a standing order to get blood drawn on a weekly or monthly basis, (depending on the results); you definitely don't want the person drawing your blood to be angry...and definitely not at YOU! As I have said;...I was very friendly. I told her that I had a "standing order" and needed a lab draw. She was very cold and stone faced and said to me in a harsh voice "Lisa's not here"!!! I was puzzled because I hadn't asked for "Lisa", I had asked for my blood to be drawn. I told her "that's fine, you can draw it, right?" She didn't answer and told me to "sit down". I asked her if "this was a good chair"? I sat down in a big blood draw chair and she never answered me back once again. Now I was really thinking "gosh, I sure don't want someone who's angry with me for some unknown reason, to be poking me with a needle". She didn't ask me my name or my birth date, like they are supposed to do every time! She said not a word but went straight to her work! At least I can honestly say that she did use the small needle that I told her to use because it was a "necessity". She also did not "hurt" me at all. She did a good job in the "poking" part. But it was very discerning to feel so "alone" and "kind of scared" because she wouldn't speak to me or anything. I was ready to just think that it was "HER PROBLEM" and she may be having just a bad day, right? WRONG!!! The next man came up to the window and she was as nice as she could be to him and she said "C'mon in and sit down, how are you today?" (or something similar to those words, but her tone was nice and kind...not at all like how she spoke to me)! I thought that I would take my review to my Yelp page because others need to know this information. She's drawn my blood before and it HAS hurt but thank God, this time it did not hurt me. But if it were up to me, and if I was you....I would not allow "Barb" to draw my blood, because not only was she cold and uncaring and wouldn't even answer or speak to me *(just the necessities) but never asked for my name or birth date before drawing my blood, like they are supposed to do every time.That could be dangerous!! You know...she didn't even write down that I told her I was "fasting" and I was!!! I'm supposed to even though the Dr forgot to write it on the slip this time...he told me...and I know I'm supposed to do it... thank you for reading...and I hope she has better days soon.
