“Our father Dennis Scanland had pre-arrangements with a previous funeral home where he worked that had closed. We were transferred to Voran Funeral Home in Dearborn for our father's pre-arrangments when he passed away this past week. Everything from meeting with the director, lots of calls/questions that we had for them, the use of the particular room that we wanted, the ease of walking through what was going to take place, the viewing, the way the room looked so beautiful & warm, comforting & caring when we walked in, our dad's many items we wanted on display, everything from start to finish was absolutely remarkable. All of your staff were great. Your funeral home is decorated beautifully. We loved the downstairs roomy kitchen area for the guests staying there all day with us. “Rich was beyond respectful during this difficult time. He came to my house to deal with the paperwork and happily came back that same day to pick my my Dads favorite Michigan hat, something he absolutely needed to have with him for cremation. I was on a tight timeline with being in Michigan before I had to travel home to Nevada. He made sure I had my Dads remains, with a permit, and his memorial flag for his military service before I left, I think it was a 4 days. He called me late on Sunday night on New Year’s Day to tell me my dad was in their possession once he was transferred to their care. He even found a local attorney to help me. I can’t say enough good things about this company, they are absolutely amazing!“

“Went to the funeral of a co worker today (Angelo Williams) and was appalled by the lack of empathy by the person officiating the funeral. He stated before people were allowed to come up to make remarks that there was another funeral afterwards so basically, hurry up. The funeral’s should be spaced apart so that that type of comment wouldn’t be needed. That was the most tacky and unnecessary remark you could make before a grieving family. I’m sure they paid thousands of dollars to have time to listen to others share their love for their loved one. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.Edit: Mr. Pye did contact me which I sincerely appreciate.“

“On Monday September 22, 2024 myself and a friend went to visit the graves of my father, grandparents , great grandparents and 2 of my father’s siblings. They all had passed many years ago. I had called the cemetery and told them I would be in town in September and wanted their stones uncovered and lifted after many years of not visiting their grave . I spoke with Christian Slone Christian called me 3 times before my arrival to ensure the success of the job I was asking him to achieve. This young man took time to locate the graves of my loved ones and have the work completed before I arrived. I had not given him my great grandfathers name and he went to great lengths to find his stone so that it also can be cleaned up. The professional and caring efforts Christian took to help me were beyond anything I expected. He is an asset to Woodmere Cemetery and an awesome individual. Thanks again Christian Slone you helped to restore my faith in good humans.
