I moved here from Colorado and was worried I wouldn't be able to find a high quality bjj place. I was pleasantly surprised with this school! Very friendly atmosphere, great staff and teachers! great training partners and very high-quality jiu jitsu! I currently train here and plan on being here for a very long time. LOVE this school!
Was rolling through Michigan for a friends wedding and found this place on the way. Dropped in probably 30 minutes into a class and the Professor was kind enough to allow me to jump in and train. All of the crew was really kind and I was able to get some good rolls in! The vibe here is nice and I recommend anyone traveling to drop in and say hello! They didn’t charge me any drop in fees but I bought a shirt which I also recommend! (They have nice designs)
Fantastic place to learn and train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I was unsure of what it would be like to start a martial art, having no experience with any martial art prior. I can say that over the last year and a half, as a student at MSU, my only complaint is that I wish I would've started training at Magic sooner. The environment is incredibly welcoming and you can choose to be competitive, exploratory, or casual, all at your own pace. The lead instructor Matt, along with multiple other highly-qualified and knowledgeable upper belts, establish a fantastic training culture. I cannot recommend this place enough for those interested in the sport.
