My sister and I are pet/house sitting and one of the pets is a 16-yr old potbelly pig. On Sunday morning she wouldn't come out of her igloo, and it looked like she might be dying. We had no idea what to do! Btw, I am 72, my sister 67. We called vets, Googled pig care, and got no direction; so we left her alone and prayed she wouldn't die! Monday I called more vets but no one knew anything about potbelly pigs! Finally someone told us about MSVS, I called and spoke to Patty who told us the vet, Dr. Brown, would be in touch. When we talked he gave me wonderful advice and was so understanding and knowledgeable, but most importantly he gave us hope and courage to get the pig up and out! I really wish someone had taken a video of us...two grey-haired women hollering at a pig as we reached in, took a hold of her back legs and pulled her out, squealing at the top of her lungs!!! We were ALL panting and exhausted after that!!! Dr. Brown, you are wonderful!! You are now a major part of the BEST. DAY. EVER!!! You helped us save a life; we truly could not have done it without you! Thank you!!
I had never heard of 4 Star Veterinary Service until I was calling all over looking for help for my potbellied pig, Kramer, who was very sick. Unfortunately, by the time I got the name/number, my pig was on death's door. However, the clinic gave me the phone number to reach Dr. Brown, even though he was currently out of state. He called me back and spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me giving me ideas on how to help my pig. Kramer was already in shock and didn't make it but we adopted a 3 month old pig right away after. We took him to Dr. Brown for castration and vaccines. We were treated so well by staff and Dr. Brown, and he was awesome with my piglet, Little Jerry Seinfeld. After the castration, he personally went over post op instructions with me and answered any questions I had. Awesome care/awesome staff/reasonable prices! I was also so appreciative of the help I received from staff when I was looking for help for my pig who was sick. THANK YOU!
