Love this salon - everyone is friendly, helpful and professional. Can’t say enough great things about Diane. She has gone out of her way to squeeze me in for a few “emergency” appointments.
I drive an hour to go to this salon! I won't go anywhere else! I have crazy thick hair. Any other place I have ever gone chops my hair into lopsided layers. Diane is the only person I'll ever let near my hair again! Thank you so much for fixing my BoRics disaster mess of a so called hair cut.
Why does this place have no reviews? I have been going here almost my whole life and I feel like the rest of Grosse Pointe's population has been too (at least the girls from my generation). The salon is very accommodating (i.e. making appointments, cancelling appointments, getting squeezed in for appointments, etc.). This is clutch, as I no longer live in Michigan and will randomly come home and try to get an appointment. Everyone in the salon is exceedingly kind and great at what they do. Allison is fantastic. My hair is a little difficult to deal with and people who know how to style asian hair are hard to come by in this area. Allison has always found ways to get my hair to do exactly what I have wanted it to do through all the hair phases of my life--from high school events (remember when we all used to get our hair curled for homecoming? guess what, thick asian hair does not hold a curl well at all and Allison figured out how to make it happen) through coming home for Christmas and getting a haircut as an adult. I've probably tried every haircut imaginable, save for shaving my head. But honestly, I don't know what I would have done without her all these years. She is hugely responsible for my confidence and style as a young woman--thanks girl! I just sent my little brother to Lavish to see if Allison could tackle his thick, anti-gravity hair. When it grows out, it literally sticks straight up into all directions without any product. The salon was so helpful and let me pay over the phone. I just facetimed my brother and, as expected, Allison managed to wrangle my brother's hair into something trendy that follows the style he's going for. Cue cool asian vibes. Allison is a master. I really can't vouch for her enough. When I was younger, I would save my after-school job money for a haircut every three months. I thought the haircuts were so expensive, but since I had to live with my hair everyday of my life, I thought it was worth it. After living in a big city, I now recognize that Lavish is an absolute steal. A haircut at Lavish is a FRACTION of the price of a city haircut. Enjoy it while you have it, Grosse Pointers.
