“Elmwood Cemetery is a historic cemetery in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. I went there recently to visit some of my loved ones' grave sites. The staff was very helpful at precisely mapping out the graves (3 to be exact) and even provided some nearby landmarks to make it easier for me to find them and it worked. I found all three of them fairly quickly.

The grounds at Elmwood Cemetery are very well kept and beautifully landscaped. There's also a small lake and fountain on site that adds to the tranquility of this historic landmark.“

“Having explored many cemeteries over the years, I can confidently say that Mt. Olivet is one of the most beautiful and well-kept cemeteries I’ve ever visited, especially in Michigan. Spanning an impressive 300 acres, it’s also Detroit’s largest cemetery, and the vastness feels almost endless as you wander through its serene grounds.

While there aren’t many extravagant private burial chambers, the cemetery is adorned with stunning statues and features breathtaking communal mausoleums. Every inch of the landscape is impeccably maintained, with beautifully manicured lawns, trees, and flowers that make it clear the staff takes immense pride in their work. In fact, I noticed landscapers and staff members actively working to enhance the beautification of the grounds during my visit, adding to the overall sense of care and respect.

If you appreciate historic beauty and tranquility, this cemetery is a must-see. It’s a true gem that reflects both the past and present, with constant efforts toward improvement.“

“On Monday September 22, 2024 myself and a friend went to visit the graves of my father, grandparents , great grandparents and 2 of my father’s siblings. They all had passed many years ago. I had called the cemetery and told them I would be in town in September and wanted their stones uncovered and lifted after many years of not visiting their grave . I spoke with Christian Slone Christian called me 3 times before my arrival to ensure the success of the job I was asking him to achieve. This young man took time to locate the graves of my loved ones and have the work completed before I arrived. I had not given him my great grandfathers name and he went to great lengths to find his stone so that it also can be cleaned up. The professional and caring efforts Christian took to help me were beyond anything I expected. He is an asset to Woodmere Cemetery and an awesome individual. Thanks again Christian Slone you helped to restore my faith in good humans.
