I am 88 years old been to many hospitals/clinics throughout metro Detroit. I'm shocked to see any bad reviews of this hospital considering my first time here was better than any other medical facility, including other Ascension facilities. I was greeted by friendly staff, and seen quickly as there was no wait in the emergency department. The medical staff were respectful and upbeat. I'm hard of hearing, and they were very patient and helpful in communicating to ensure I understood clearly. I will continue to utilize this Professional hospital.
THIS IS NOT A FLUFF REVIEW... THIS HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE! I've been going to this hospital since I was a young adult. I've always experienced exceptional service. Never had an issue with the wait time in ER or being seen by a physician in a timely manner. Everyone from the doctors, nurses, nurse technicians, transport service and house keeping are very pleasant! Ascension has some great physicians as well. My primary doctor, cardiologist and GI doctor are all apart of Ascension... and I'm very happy with their service as well!
The nurses seemed very nice although not always on the same page. Elevators didn't work so that was not good. My only real problem though is they're not into patient comfort. They are more worried about prescribing pain medicine too often. I had surgery and I was extremely uncomfortable the whole time I was there and anytime I would ask for any type of pain medicine I would be told it wasn't a good idea. I never did get any relief from my pain. And I am not an addict and never have been, in fact I do not take any medicine regularly.
