I was admitted to the head pain unit for severe chronic migraine and this was the best of the best! Definitely go here if nothing else has worked for you. Major help to me! Great staff and facility, very few minor complaints.

I have now had three experiences with Chelsea Hospital: 2012 with my elderly and very ill mother, 2015 my husband had a 3 week stay with encephalopathy, and 2016 my own 4 day stay with a ruptured & infected appendix. Here is my personal assessment of this EXCELLENT community hospital: 1. The staff is warm, friendly and caring. 2. The medical expertise of nursing and physician staff is topnotch. If additional outside consults are required ( as in the case of my husband's strange brain malfunction after an antibiotic reaction), expertise is brought in from the U of M and/or St. Joe's. 3. Protocols, such as bedside reporting where each new shift change of staff is introduced to the patient individually, humanizes the hospital experience for patients and results in feeling known and well cared for. 4. Food service and system is excellent: timely, individualized, friendly, readily available, and extremely efficient. Food is appropriately prepared for hospital patients and served in a fashion that feels thoughtful, including attention to aesthetics wherever possible. (Example:paper doily under soup) 5. Release procedure are also thorough, efficient, and fast. I have waited as long as seven hours in some hospitals for the paperwork to go through with my mother. 6. The physical facility is state of the art. GORGEOUS, well designed private hospital rooms make healing faster and more pleasant. Large windows with views of the surrounding woods and interior courtyards only makes the experience more pleasant. 7. The facility is cleaner than any other hospital I have visited: Beaumont Troy, Crittenton in Rochester Hills, and particularly, the U ofM emergency room. If I ever need another hospital stay, I will go directly to Chelsea Community Hospital. ~Katharine Keeble, Ph.D Dexter, MI
