I have a small breed dog pregnant with a singleton puppy and at the vet yesterday morning we were faced with a tough decision. Being a hour+ away and the probability of her going into labor last night if deciding to wait until this morning to do the procedure, we decided based of reverse pg and ultrasound and xray that puppy was ready to come out even though pg still at a 5.4ngl. X ray showed toe bones supporting sufficient development to live, ultrasound showed puppy was still alive and healthy not under any stress.
