“Imagine living in a neighborhood where the siding is at the end of its life, the trim is rotting, and the only thing protecting the house from water damage is the siding. Imagine your house was built before house wrap was a requirement and the assembly line of homes in your neighborhood had some of the lowest quality parts at the time. I found myself in this situation. The quotes for siding were anywhere from 40k to 60k (omg). The cost to replace the trim and the scallops, that bear the dirt of a 1000 rains, was somewhere in the 14k to 16k range. And none of that seemed doable in my mind without refinancing the house and ruining my low interest rate. So, I decided that I would try to tackle the trim myself. I ordered PVC trim boards from Lowes, the kind with the fake wood grain, and since most of my trim was on the bottom of the house, I set to work.On a Saturday in late April, I was in the middle of ripping off a piece of rotting trim from the side of one of my windows when I realized that I was totally in over my head. The OSB was soaked, I didn’t know how to remove siding, and I honestly didn’t know how I was going to put all of this back together so the window and the wall behind it would remain dry.As I was having these thoughts, a car passed by. The man driving stuck his head out of the window for two house lengths and I knew he was coming back. When the car did return, his wife got out of the vehicle and came over to talk to me. She said she normally didn’t do this kind of thing, but they had done work on many houses in the neighborhood and if I was interested, they would come out and give me a quote on the following Monday. They weren’t looking for people to sell to, they just happened to be in the neighborhood with their grandkids after an outing together.Fast-forward to Monday when Tim and his wife Sue came out to talk to me about the trim, scallops and siding. He took measurements and gave me multiple options to consider. He could do the trim for me, the trim and the ugly scallops, or, and he asked for permission first, he could give me a quote on the whole house. On a side note, some of my trim had already be cased in the aluminum trim coil, so there were parts of the house they didn’t need to do which in the end saved me some money. Also, unlike one company, they didn’t say they wanted to replace the existing work “to match”. When I saw the price of a full house makeover, with matching trim around all of my windows, insulation, house wrap, replacement vent covers, boxed out outlets, what to me felt like the works, I knew the right people had found me.For just under 19k, I was able to take my 1996 ranch with the rotting trim and the old yellow siding, and (with HOA approval) turn it into a color I had always dreamed of getting. The two workers that came to do the trim took just under two weeks, and they were true masters of their craft. They knew my original siding was on wrong and pointed out why. They taught me that they had a method to their madness to make sure the siding looked good, a pattern that was consistent around the house. They reinstalled all of the fixtures they had to take off and even installed my replacement outdoor lights for me. While some people may not appreciate this, they piled up the old siding and scrap in the driveway and got a dumpster on the last day to save money.Honestly, none of this would have been possible without the kind couple at New Beginnings Restoration who took a chance and stopped to offer their genuine assistance. Did I mention they also helped me take my trim back to Lowes? I know that if you got this far you have probably seen previous reviews, but I assure you, as someone who does a lot of research, and is pretty handy herself, this company is very much worth your time. Also, they offer financing!Thank you, thank you, thank you for my beautiful “new” home, Tim and Sue! And our new friendship.“
“West Branch Builders built my new addition this summer, did a great job. Crew was on time, tidy, and hardworking. *** and ** listened to what I wanted and made sure it all came together just right. Finished the job on schedule and never had any surprise costs. Quality work, no hassle. Highly recommend them for any construction job.“
“Dale and his crew redid our roof the middle of December 2023. They did an amazing job. They were all friendly, very professional and worked very hard. Dale came back several times after work was completed just to make sure everything was right. Would highly recommend this company.“
