5 stars for exam, 3 stars for retailI love my doctor at Clarkson, but I do not recommend purchasing anything from here. I was WAY overcharged for a recent eyeglass purchase and I'm still trying to sort it out.I wonder if this is such a mess because Clarkson is (unbeknownst to me) a huge company with hundreds of locations across the country. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I suggest purchasing your glasses and contacts elsewhere, where billing is more straightforward and issues are rectified quicker.

I always get great eyecare at Clarkson on Main Street. I typically see the same doctor, Dr. Richardson, who's excellent--very knowledgeable and thorough, good explainer, takes time to double-check things; and she and the technician who does the testing before my exam (sorry I'm forgetting her name, but she's a delight--friendly, patient, efficient) both remember me (or at least do a good job of pretending to!) even though I'm only there once a year. And Ross, the optician who helped me this time, was unbelievably patient as I was ridiculously fussy about frames, winding up having to go to the Clarkson on Plymouth to find one that worked for me. I love this place, been coming here for 3 years now. They always take care of me and make sure I am completely satisfied with my glasses. Last year there was something wrong with the prescription so they checked again for free and the glasses had to be remade 3 times until they were no longer causing a fishbowl effect. Dr Weston is extremely kind and knowledgeable and will walk through eye scans and discuss what each part of the image means. He is open to many treatment options and I am coming back next week to try contacts.
