After seeing the reviews. I decided to call them l.Adam answered the phone. He was very professional and pleasant. so I decided to drive 35 minutes from Monroe. I got to walk in no wait he did quality work really can't beat the price for the quality. I will definitely be going back it was worth the drive
Really nice and very engaging with customers. Very knowledgeable about customer issues on their hair/beard and helps them understand what they need to do. Does a great job in a good amount of time for an amazing price.
FANTASTIC SERVICE & PROFESSIONALISM! When I moved back to Michigan in 2011, one of the first contractors I needed to find was a new hairstylist. I wouldn't call myself uber-picky, but I do highly value and appreciate someone who can consistently cut my hair how I like it cut, and for a fair price. I found an awesome stylist downtown Ypsilanti who cut my hair regularly for about ten years, until Covid hit. Unfortunately, because she was an independent stylist who rented space, the overhead costs became unsustainable as fewer people were leaving their homes in those days. I guess you could say I'm a creature of habit--like a lot of people, right? And, whenever I find someone who does a good job for a reasonable price, I tend to stick with them. For me, the same rule applies to a reliable cab driver, handyman or craftsman, online vendors, and even the grocery store chain I buy from. Call it brand loyalty, if you will. So, like many guys I know, I began shaving my head at home and did so up until the holidays last year. I saved a lot of money, true; but recently I decided to grow my hair back out, and since I don't have eyes in the back and sides of my head, I'm limited in that regard. I did a quick search online and found only a small number of barbershops were open, it being a Sunday. I checked out a few reviews and discovered a new shop with a listing on Yelp, called Laboratory Barbershop, which had recently opened downriver. At first it seemed a bit out of the way for someone in East Ypsi, but when I checked for directions, I was shocked to find that it was only 20 minutes away by car. I was also surprised that they're open 7 days a week, with hours until 8pm most days. That's unheard of in that business! I called and spoke to the owner, Sal, who was very friendly. He said he was booked for the day, but that there wasn't a long wait time for walk-ins, so I jumped in the car and headed down the highway. Sure enough, less than 20 minutes to get there--less time than going into Ann Arbor, the next town over from Ypsi. Almost every seat in the waiting area was filled, and every barber chair, which was a good first impression for me. After just a short wait, Fanzo called me over. I showed him a picture of the general style I was shooting for and explained my longer-term goals for letting my hair grow out. He said, "No Problem, I can fix you up," and he did just that. I was highly impressed with how professional and courteous everyone was there, and when I got home and had a better look at his handiwork, I was even more impressed. Fanzo gave me the exact cut I was hoping for. He was also very pleasant to chat with, and the price very reasonable. BTW, I have major chemical sensitivities which often cause me to avoid such establishments, but when I asked Sal on the phone prior to coming in, he assured me there were no harsh chemicals used on the premises. He was not wrong about that. Thankfully, I had no issues in that respect, at all. I have nothing but positive feedback about my visit today and intend to keep coming back. I would strongly recommend the Laboratory Barbershop to anyone, young or old, alike. Today, they were catering to school-aged kids, as well as older gentleman like myself--a very diverse mix of people--in a very relaxed atmosphere, as any good neighborhood barbershop should be. Five Stars all the way! Many thanks, guys!
