Since Ed Dunn was never a Gilbert Homes customer, it's hard to tell how accurate his account is, but I'd like to address this anyway. If I knew who the customer is it would make it a little easier to respond.Like many builders, we hire Quality Insulation to take care of all of our insulation needs. They use the proper baffles to insure that the eave vents don't get clogged. If we were aware that a mistake was made, Quality Ins. would fix it at no cost to us.Northeastern General Contractors does all of our ground work and they have an excellent reputation. If a boulder was against the foundation, they wouldn't be able to remove the wooden forms. Also, the code enforcement officer inspects the foundation before it's back filled. He wouldn't pass it if it was wrong. Did you dig up the foundation and see a boulder? For the leach field, I don't know which house you're talking about, but if it was done wrong Northeastern would fix it for us an no charge to Gilbert Homes.The only Facebook post taken down (to my knowledge) was a complaint from a person renting an apartment from Gilbert Properties, which is NOT Gilbert Homes.Gilbert Homes has an excellent BBB rating.“

“Village Builders transformed our dark, icky basement into a beautiful, functional space. They designed, built and finished 2 bedrooms, a rec space and a bathroom. They also created a beautiful staircase leading to the upstairs living room from the basement. The estimate was fair and thorough and they stuck to it. Each part of the crew was skilled and knew what they were doing. Huge shout out to Jeff who paid close attention to detail (put up with my dog and kids) and is an excellent carpenter and to George who did a great job communicating who was coming and what they would be doing each week. We highly recommend Village Builders!“

Despite the inevitable challenges, Jason's team brought the project in on time and on budget. They were a pleasure to work with, and I am very happy with my new kitchen. “It's been over a year and a half now since we completed an extensive from-the-studs-out renovation of a 1907 building with Papi and Romano, and it just keeps getting better with age :-) We bought a magnificent apartment on the West End of Portland in December 2018 while living in California. To say that we started from the ground up is an understatement. Having chosen to work with Rick Romano and his crew from 3000 miles away, there are no words for the experience that we had and the product that they turned out. Yes, it took longer and cost more than we had anticipated, but as expected there were some nearly insurmountable challenges that came up along the way. The work provided by Rick and his crew; the extraordinary attention to detail in every single way can never be understated. They found ways to reuse every single original door and piece of hardware, while creating an entirely new space where those original doors became pocket doors, the transom windows/lights were reused in every place possible, original 1907 brick was exposed with doors realigned in the intention of John Calvin Stevens, the architect on our beautiful building, and every piece of cabinetry was created to perfection. As a design build firm, Rick and we worked out reconfiguring some of the original space and solved some issues of sound attenuation. For that we requested an outside opinion from our nephew, also an architect, who provided new and creative ideas. Rick was open to suggestions and ideas that were not his own, Chose to learn alternative ways of handling possible issues, and was gracious to a fault. He is a joy to work with (if not always the easiest guy to get a hold of :-) and every one of his subcontractors is top tier. I realize that it's been too long and that we haven't written him the review that he deserved, but it's nice to have lived in this beautiful space for some time now, and to appreciate him more every day. We cannot recommend Papi and Romano highly enough.“

“Rudi the Plumber just replaced the shower fixture/handle in my bathroom. The work was done quickly and for exactly the price of the estimate. In addition, the appointment happened sooner than I was expecting which was very welcome since the old handle was leaking fairly badly. Both Norm and Dave were very helpful and the work is all done. I've worked with this company before and find them to be reliable and professional.“

“I've had Jimmy Express Floor Sanding out to my 1907 home twice in the past year to strip and/or restore the original hardwood floors after the previous owner painted over some of the flooring. They were able to bring the floors back to their original beauty! I highly recommend Jimmy Express Floor Sanding!“
