About Midcoast Animal Emergency Clinic

Midcoast Animal Emergency Clinic is a veterinary clinic that offers emergency services for various animals. They are known for their knowledge and experience with exotic pets, such as rats, and their ability to help animals on weekends when regular vets are not available. The clinic's staff are described as clear, fast, gentle, and patient, taking time to guide pet owners through post-operative care and medication instructions. Transparency about treatment costs and options is also a key aspect of their service. Many pet owners have had positive experiences with the clinic, expressing gratitude for the staff's kindness and support during tough times. They appreciate the empathetic approach, especially when dealing with their pets' health and even during passing moments. Reviews highlight the helpfulness of team members, such as Meredith, who provided clear communication and quick treatment when a dog encountered a porcupine. However, there have been mixed reviews regarding the treatment of certain animals, particularly chickens. Some pet owners felt that their chickens did not receive the same level of care and consideration as dogs or cats. They were upset by the terminology used, referring to their chickens as "it" and the frustration with not being allowed to be present during euthanasia. Overall, Midcoast Animal Emergency Clinic is a place where many pet owners find compassionate and knowledgeable care for their animals, while others have noted areas for improvement, especially in the treatment of chickens.

Having to bring my boy in on Christmas day was not ideal, but I am so glad that I did and so glad that every single person that worked with him was wonderful! Dr. Marini is a top notch vet and thank you to Dani (spelling?) and Maddy for your calming and cheerful presence around my boy. You all made this stressful experience so much better for us.

I brought in my 7-yo Manchester Terrier, who was experiencing a mild to moderate gastroenteritis. I had planned on holding off to see if it resolved but during the night he was in a lot of discomfort, so I thought I might as well see what could be done even though it was near midnight.

We were lucky. There were not many other patients/clients ahead of us and our situation wasn't critical. We were handled attentively and appropriately and after IV hydration plus two meds we were on our way and my boy has improved rapidly. I thought the charges were fair and was glad I had a place close to go.

With that said, I am sorry to read about the experiences others...read full review

My dumbass cat ate a sewing needle and thread and they got her all fixed up super fast. Had problems previously when anesthesia had to be used (different vet), but this vet handled her very well and she came out of the knock out juice very easily. In general they were very kind and reassuring even when I was panicking, and seemed to treat her very well as well. She was back to her cuddly self almost immediatley
