Estate taxes can be complex, confusing, and frustrating for those already grieving the loss of a loved one. After calling many tax professionals in the Portland area about my estate tax questions, several stated they did not provide estate tax services or wanted to charge me thousands of dollars upfront without even hearing the amount of income my estate generated (which is partly related to the complexity of the tax return). I had a very good experience two years ago, with a former associate, but this year terrible, since I lost my father and was in horrible grief and not in good shape. Rachel Shufelt has saved me over the past 6 years. She's brilliant, smart, and mostly and the most important--ethical.
