“My husband and I let out silver labs dogs out on 8/8/24 around 2:30 am to go the bathroom. Next thing we know, they both came in vomiting and foaming at the mouth. Little did I realize, they both got sprayed by a skunk. We have done several baths and we even bought an ozone machine. Sure it helps but they rubbed their bodies all over the couch, blankets, rugs and dog beds. The couch is the WORST. We have tried everything. As soon as you sit on the couch especially on a muggy day, it comes right back to you! Finally after 3 weeks, I called Magic Carpet Cleaning & Restoration and they made an exceptional appointment to come up and clean our couch on a Saturday because it was wicked bad. “It's been over a year and a half now since we completed an extensive from-the-studs-out renovation of a 1907 building with Papi and Romano, and it just keeps getting better with age :-) We bought a magnificent apartment on the West End of Portland in December 2018 while living in California. To say that we started from the ground up is an understatement. Having chosen to work with Rick Romano and his crew from 3000 miles away, there are no words for the experience that we had and the product that they turned out. Yes, it took longer and cost more than we had anticipated, but as expected there were some nearly insurmountable challenges that came up along the way. The work provided by Rick and his crew; the extraordinary attention to detail in every single way can never be understated. They found ways to reuse every single original door and piece of hardware, while creating an entirely new space where those original doors became pocket doors, the transom windows/lights were reused in every place possible, original 1907 brick was exposed with doors realigned in the intention of John Calvin Stevens, the architect on our beautiful building, and every piece of cabinetry was created to perfection. As a design build firm, Rick and we worked out reconfiguring some of the original space and solved some issues of sound attenuation. For that we requested an outside opinion from our nephew, also an architect, who provided new and creative ideas. Rick was open to suggestions and ideas that were not his own, Chose to learn alternative ways of handling possible issues, and was gracious to a fault. He is a joy to work with (if not always the easiest guy to get a hold of :-) and every one of his subcontractors is top tier. I realize that it's been too long and that we haven't written him the review that he deserved, but it's nice to have lived in this beautiful space for some time now, and to appreciate him more every day. We cannot recommend Papi and Romano highly enough.“

“We had a major mold issue in our floor level basement and the whole thing needed to be gutted. Doug’s team were great. It was a LOT of work to gut a nearly 200 y/o basement (with a slew of surprises). They worked so hard, went beyond what we asked, and the place looked incredible in the end. I am allergic to mold, and with their remediation + a good commercial dehumidifier, I don’t have any symptoms.<br><br>We recently had a construction team in to have a look at a separate issue, and they were also genuinely impressed with the mold removal work.
