I'm amazed by the interaction I just had with Kevin from Carpet Services. We have a no-shoe household to avoid tracking petroleum, feces, and harmful bacteria onto our carpets and floors because we have a 1-year-old who puts everything in her mouth. Kevin seemed shocked when I asked him to remove his shoes or wear booties before entering. He refused, and after some tense back-and-forth, he left without performing the services (I'd hired him to clean a chaise lounge, not our carpets).
