I would definitely recommend them for removing unwanted junk and debris that is far too heavy to carry off, especially if you are disabled.

this is a small shop, it is pricey, and the wait times can be a bit long. know all of that and still know that this is the best place to bring your treasured items for altering. I brought a beautiful deep purple leather coat in that i bought during an italy trip almost 25 years ago. it had a couple cat scratches on the back, and the sleeves needed lengthening to fit my youngest. the tailor found a perfect black leather to add to the sleeves, repaired the scratches and added a strengthening seam around the tears so that lots of love and use wouldn't stretch and open them again. we were blown away by the quality of the work and it was worth every penny to make this jacket wearable again

Worth the hype! Brittanie was great - both sweet and fun and really brought my curls back to life. We talked and made a plan before the cut to make sure we were on the same page. When I arrived to Portland, I had trouble finding a reliable barber. I had tried three different places and asked for a simple medium fade, only to be left like I was wearing a beret. When I tried Wards and had an appointment with Alex, i couldn’t have been happier. He took his time to be precise, fixed my beard up, and threw in a shave for the neck.Will continue to be a consistent customer and couldn’t recommend any of these guys enough - 10/10

Look at my post history. I have few posts. I refuse to post to Google unless I find GOLD! I've posted once before for a tapas restaurant in Dublin, Ireland I stand behind. And just like I said in that post, I will TOTALLY get on a plane for 5hrs and go to Dublin to eat at that tapas bar again. I will totally get on a plane anywhere in the world and get my hair cut at Blind Pig.
My barber was Emily. Hunter booked my appointment totally last-second on my last-minute trip to Portland to investigate a job opportunity. NORMALLY, I want my haircut to just be over and done with because I do the commercial places because I am balding and blah blah blah.
Hunter made an appt for me last-minute with Emily, who was already ready to go home, but she stayed to honor the need. And then SHE PROCEEDED TO TAKE TIME WITH ME like I was some kind of exotic car in need of detail. She talked to me, told me stories, made me feel like a human, and she cut my hair. "Emily, can you help me with my homeless-looking beard?" No problem, as she turned me into some stupid middle-aged runway model.
I never thought I could look so decent. I never thought I'd appreciate a higher-cost cut. I was wrong. On all counts.
The people here made my day. Every. Single. One. The whole place has a story and a hidden pig challenge. Every aspect of this place from the basement-streetview location to the service was topnotch.
As I told Emily, I will come here for a haircut every time even if I remain 2hrs away. It was that great of an experience.

I was a walk in today in search of a good mani and pedi. I have been a bit disheartened lately with my experiences. I read the reviews and decided to give Ivy’s a try. I had the pleasure of working with Jenny today. She was amazing! She took great care and was meticulous in the best way with my nails. I am so happy with my experience and the results. The best nail techs in Portland, and dare I say all of Maine! I have allergies to some nail products and they are so helpful and accommodating in ensuring no cross contamination is happening. It’s also an incredibly clean and well maintained space.

He's a really sweet person, easy to talk to and I even consider him a friend now. I don't really know the other stylists there because I'm usually booked when he's at the salon by himself. Which I love, as an introvert, to chat away and catch up on life. I do miss the old location where I was able to get a mani/pedi at the same time. Efficiency! :)

Cameron is the best. After an hour long facial I’m left feeling refreshed and hydrated. We started with an essential oil scented foot bath and then on to the main event! This winter has ruined my hands so the silver lining of this experience is the hand warmers that keep you cozy through out your cleanse, mask, and massage. If you need a hour to yourself this is a great way to spend it.
I had a prenatal massage with Thyiace and it was amazing! It was my very first time there and my first massage of any kind. She made me feel comfortable and I felt amazing when I left. The applied just the right amount of pressure and it was exactly what I needed! The spa itself is so relaxing with lots of nice products to purchase as well. The waiting rooms are comfortable and very relaxing. Highly recommend!
Just got done with a full body massage from John and it was amazing! He was able to get me in within 2 hours of booking an appointment too. He was a very vey good listener, and helped me out with very specific spots I needed extra work with. Couldn't recommend a better place!
I had a 110 minute massage yesterday at Adeline Spa. I was a hotel guest that unfortunately over slept 5 minutes into my appointment start time. I recently got a daith piercing from Nick Holes at Brass and Briar, and it was a great experience!! Nick was incredibly professional and created a safe and comforting space. He was so swift and skilled that I experienced little discomfort. I will 1,000% be going back in a few months to get more piercings from Nick!
First time customer. Called at 12 for a last minute apt, they managed to get me in at 3pm. It was a small tattoo, came out very well I am as happy as I could be with it. Doug did a great job and was very friendly, it was a pleasant experience. I also was very impressed with the cleanliness of the parlor, I think I will be coming back.

Thirteen of us spent a few days in Maine for a girls weekend. To commemorate a fun weekend, seven of us decided to get tattoos. I reached out to Steve explaining what everyone wanted with as much details as possible. Steve loved the idea of a group tattoo and was excited to tattoo all of us. We got to the shop and he had the stencils already drawn with a few other ideas. He even went as far as offering great advice on placement and design of tattoos.

Popped in this weekend for a Tats 4 Tails fundraiser for the ARLGP and other dogs in the area. I hate waiting all day and had to get to work that afternoon but the second they posted that their wasn't a line I scooted down and got my name on a list. After about 10 mins of filling out paperwork etc Emma came and grabbed me. She was the the most personable tattoo artist I've ever had & was super fun to talk to. Her and the other tattoo artists made sure both her and I were in comfortable (or as comfortable as you can be with a needle in your leg !) Everybody in the shop was super nice and fun to chat with. Everything was super clean and its been a few days but looks like its healing well! Really enjoyed this experience and already looking forward to getting my sassy seagull a friend at next years fundraiser!
I was recommended to Ryan by an acquaintance whose advice I would not normally follow and I must say that, for once, I'm so glad that I did. The appointment that I booked was for my mother and I to get matching tattoos behind our ears as a (delayed) Christmas present. The booking process was easy, quick, and his Melissa (his assistant) was both quick to respond and beyond on top of following up. The location itself is very easy to access and has the luxury of a parking lot which, as someone who has regularly fought for parking in the city, took a large amount of stress out of the whole process. We arrived and were immediately greeted by Ryan who was both warm and exceptionally well-dressed. He showed us his concept art and, when I requested a slight alteration to make it a bit smaller, very quickly made changes to accommodate my wants and was off to work. Ryan was quick, light handed, and offered a calming presence for my mother who quickly realized we had essentially graduated to getting neck tattoos. I personally was a huge fan of his musical offerings and, if I may say so, the man has a lovely singing voice. This was perhaps my favorite part.All in all, I look forward to booking another appointment with Ryan, and would recommend anyone looking to get work done in the area (or even from away!) to do the same. He was kind, witty, and patient (which was key here as mom and I can be a bit rowdy.) I’ve had two tattoos done at Tsunami. The first was a coverup done by Phuc in 2008 - the cherry blossoms he did 16 years ago are still beautiful today.
The second tattoo is one I waited nearly ten years to get because I specifically wanted someone who understood my idea and whose art aligned with my vision. J Rose is that artist. I would never go to another studio and would wait any amount of time to get on either Phuc’s or J Rose’s books.

I had a wonderful experience at Gemstone Tattoo! I had 2 all-black, line art designs commissioned by another artist, but I wanted them tweaked a little. Gemma had great ideas and was able to suggest changes that perfectly captured what I wanted.
Her space is warm, inviting, and serene, and I felt relaxed and comfortable during the whole process. Chill music and sparkling conversation kept me distracted from the pain, and I left the shop incredibly happy with the final results.
I can't wait to work with Gemma again for a custom piece!

The heating tank he installed was cracked from the manufacturer, not his fault, when I reached out on a Friday evening at 8pm, he responded immediately and had it replaced by 8am on the following day, which happened to be a Saturday.
Can’t say I’ve ever experienced this good of service from a plumber before.

Rudi the Plumber just replaced the shower fixture/handle in my bathroom. The work was done quickly and for exactly the price of the estimate. In addition, the appointment happened sooner than I was expecting which was very welcome since the old handle was leaking fairly badly. Both Norm and Dave were very helpful and the work is all done. I've worked with this company before and find them to be reliable and professional.
We have used this company for quite a few years now-first was for an emergency when we could find nobody else. We find them a bit expensive but we get what we pay for: they are polite, prompt, friendly, accurate, and very reliable. These things are not easily found these days and we are happy to give them our money for their fantastic service

Wow. We received such fabulous service from Mancini. I was very impressed. One of their electricians, Greg, came out to our apartment in response to our complaint to the building management that we could not get our cable to work. Greg said that he wasn’t ordinarily called out for that kind of job, and I was afraid he wasn’t going to be able to do it. But he plunged right in and did some amazing detective work to figure out what the problem was. It took him quite a while to track down the problem, going from our apartment to the basement to the outside of the building, but he did not give up and kept going until he found out what was wrong and fixed it. And while doing so, he was professional, pleasant, and, courteous and compassionate. I don’t know anything about electricity, but I know great service when I see it. And that’s what we received: Great service. If all their staff are as good as Greg, this is a fabulous company. I highly recommend Mancini Electric.
I recently moved and used Green Clean for an initial deep clean and the first of my regular biweekly cleanings. The Green Clean team is friendly, responsive, and meticulous. They cleaned the baseboards and floors twice in the initial visit. I love that they use clean products that smell nice, yet not overpowering. Their pricing is also aligned with what I was paying at my previous residence in Maine.

Sam was quick to respond, came to give us an estimate, and answered all of our questions about different finishes. He got the work done in a day and we were so impressed with how the floors looked. It jump started our renovation of our new house and we can’t thank him enough!

All but 2 were completely ruined. They came in, put down new flooring and then sanded and polished the floors. The floors came out great! They are gorgeous. Better than I could have expected. MC Construction worked on our soffit that was damaged when a tree fell on our roof..The soffit repair and painting was completed in a day!. The workers were very professional and attentive to detail. ******* was there to address our concerns. We are so pleased with the work completed.
Casco Bay Roofing is the most amazing company I have had the pleasure of working with. 10 years ago Mike put in the roof I had an issue with the ridge vent tiles blowing off and Mike was back to me in 10 minutes and a repairman is here today fixing the problem. Wonderful company

Jason et al did a terrific job on my recent kitchen refresh. James & Kevin were meticulous with the installation, taking care to consider how best to work around my unlevel, unplumb, unsquare space. When unexpected problems came up with other aspects of the project, Jason talked me through the options and adjusted the schedule so there would be as little disruption as possible. Despite the inevitable challenges, Jason's team brought the project in on time and on budget. They were a pleasure to work with, and I am very happy with my new kitchen. [Jason's crew did a great job on some exterior repairs on my home a few years ago, which was why he was the first contractor I called for this project. I highly recommend them!]

First visit to this office today and I was so impressed! Probably the first time in my life that I had a pleasant experience at a dentist. Dr. Shaw was so thorough and friendly and he explained everything he was doing and seeing. And my cleaning with Megan was great. She was so enthusiastic and took the time to do a really good job. My newborn was having difficulty with reflux and a stiff neck after a long, stressful birth. My son would cry when I would nurse him, and I could tell he was very uncomfortable. Our pediatrician recommended a reflux medication and didn’t have any advice for the neck mobility issue. I sought out a more holistic approach, and my goal was to get my son off the reflux medication as soon as possible. Around 6 weeks old, I began taking him to Tree of Life thanks to a friend’s recommendation.
We started seeing Dr. Victoria, and immediately felt like we were in great hands. She thoroughly explained the process, asked lots of helpful questions, and I felt heard with the concerns I had for my baby. The initial scans were alarming, and I was so glad we had sought treatment. After a few gentle adjustments with Dr. Victoria, my son’s comfort started to improve during nursing. I noticed great progress in his neck mobility right away! Eventually, we were able to discontinue the medication completely.
Some additional improvements I have noticed are his latch while nursing and his calm temperament. These are two major benefits we hadn’t anticipated! There have been numerous occasions when every baby at my sons’ daycare is sick – except for him. The adjustments have helped boost his immune system!
I recently had a scan done for myself- and have started treatment as well. After already feeling improvements, I am wishing I had done this while I was pregnant!

I've been to many chiropractors and the chiropractors are usually friendly but the receptionists, however, are usually pretty rude and rarely pick up. However, the receptionists at AHC are very energetic, nice, fun/funny, and usually pick up the phone. And Dr. Rob is awesome, too.
I love Dr Cooper! She really gets and respects how in tune I am with my own body and has a deep understanding of how everything in our bodies work together and affect one another. She remembers what’s going on with not only my body but my family and has been adjusting us since my teen was a baby! I also really like that this office offers neurological treatments and physical manipulations like percussion, active stretching, and traction that has helped immensely with my pain levels.

Dr. Lou was very detailed and knowledgeable in assessing my issues. The adjustments are quick and thorough. Feeling so much better! There is also a nice music vibe with videos playing on the tv, books to read and funky things on the wall. Both he and Sandra provide excellent service. Don’t forget to take home some guitar picks and a jar of pasta sauce!
I have been to A LOT of chiropractors. Dr. Raymond is hands-down the best there is. He is knowledgeable far beyond the scope of a typical chiropractor, caring and compassionate, and his treatments resolve issues. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Wendy is a great practitioner.... one of a kind. She's a careful listener and wants to know about all aspects of your life, as she factors in what may be contributing to your physical symptoms. She'll take the time to hear out your story. Wendy has more in her toolbox than other chiropractors I've experienced...such as homeopathy, nutrition, and attunement. Wendy is definitely an out-of-the-box thinker who can tackle problems others are baffled by. Wendy's love for her work shines through. She's helped me a lot, so I highly recommend her.

Back Cove has been beyond accommodating of my cats multiple urgent care needs, seeing him same day I call and providing treatment. They are transparent about costs and offer different options. They are also quite friendly and efficient.
You can tell that the workers at the specialty clinic truly love animals. I am so grateful that we took my cat Nelson here because I left feeling so much less scared about our plan to treat his cancer. The oncologist Dr. Mason is honest, highly experienced, empathetic, and passionate about her work, and I am so thankful that we got a vet like her who seems to genuinely care about what she does. I feel secure knowing that she will be honest with us about his health, but I also feel relieved knowing she will make sure he gets the best care possible. All of the staff were also very sweet and compassionate :) I highly recommend this clinic if you are looking for the best care with your animal.

Donations are accepted with great thanks. They do great follow up. A little hard to get in as they are very busy. A great choice for lower priced, quality pet care. Aftercare services are also available. Would love to see lots of donations toward up graded equipment, and training for staff so they can continue up to date care . Clean place, with very helpful staff.

I’ve taken two pets to Brackett St Vet and they have consistently provided great care for both animals. They respond to the animal’s individual needs with concern and professionalism. I feel like they see my pets as part of their family too. Great vet.
My anxious, sweet MaineCoon is much more comfortable going to a "cats only" vet. They are the best in our experience of 18 rescue cats and one purebred. Easy to make appointments and consistently competent and friendly staff.
I decided to reach out to Rebel Pet for grooming services for my 90-pound German Shepherd, who always has trouble with nail trimming. Rebel Pet has great reviews so I left a voicemail for Denielle. Denielle got back to me explaining that she is currently working alone and suggested two groomers who have more staff to handle my large and anxious dog during nail trimming. Denielle's suggestion was so helpful, and her call was such an unexpected courtesy. I'll make sure to keep a lookout for when Denielle relocates her business and can start rehiring employees. She truly deserves your patronage!
This place ?I was very nervous about bringing my older rescue pup to be groomed, especially not knowing her history. While she is a super love bug, she can be quite a stubborn and grouchy old lady.Everyone was so warm and welcoming from start to finish. They listened to my concerns and communicated clearly and kindly. I felt very comfortable leaving my favorite girl in their care.Upon leaving her visit, she immediately started struttin’ like she was a canine queen—because she was absolutely treated as one. ? My introduction to this studio was in the middle of the pandemic so I was attending virtual classes. I liked the variety of styles of the different instructors. It's great for all levels of experience and the teachers are very good at offering ways to build onto and into each position to meet you where you are that day rather than expecting that everyone is ready to jump into crow pose or wheel.Once I was able to attend in person in the heated studio, I was hooked! In the summer, it's a lower heat but still feels great. Classes aren't overly crowded which I really appreciate (I like having some personal space). Having an outdoor class overlooking the water is an extra perk for our short but glorious Maine summer. ?
Adrienne W I joined the horse yoga class this past weekend and it was the best experience ever. I do not exercise regularly and have not done yoga in quite a long time. The class was in a terrific setting, especially if you love animals. Her class was easy to follow, and I feel like I got so much out of it. We were able to have a tour of the farm afterwards and meet the horses. Can not wait to do the class again. I might add the goat yoga class is awfully fun too.
Portland Power Yoga classes have been the best addition to my weekly schedule! Such a great class for building strength in your whole body. I love their approach to mindfulness and staying present, these practices really help beyond the mat. PPY staff are passionate, hard-working and so kind! He is the real deal! This man is a gifted healer. He grew up in China and knows everything there is about acupuncture. He is gentle and kind and has gotten rid of my plantar fasciitis that I had for a year and 1/2 an no one could help. He is genuine and wonderful. I would never deal with anyone else.
